Meet me in London by Georgia Toffolo. Published by Mills and Boon.
I would firstly like to thank Netgalley, Mills and Boon and Georgia Toffolo for the E ARC copy of this book.
We meet Oliver and Vicki. Oliver is brought in to get the Chelsea store of Russell and Co back on track for the opening day. His cousin is not coping, getting the residents back’s up and is basically not making a good job of things. As well as having this stress, Oliver is coping with family issues, especially his Mother wanting him to find a wife, settle down and produce the next generation.
We also meet Vicki, she works in a bar, across the street from the new store, teaches 3 young girls sewing and fashion design, as well as designing and selling her own dresses. She is off men.
One night she and Oliver meet at the bar, Oliver sees her as his way to get his mother off his back, but she refuses his marriage offer. Later they meet again by accident, they talk and she agrees to the fake fiancé role. This then becomes their story. It was so well written and the characters and situations so believable.
It is also a story about the bond of friendship and how true friends are there for you no matter what and will do all they can for you. I loved the bond between Vicki and her 3 friends Zoe, Lily and Malie. To have friendship like that is so special.
I would highly recommend this book. If you can hold off reading it, until the Christmas tree is up, then settle yourself in your favourite chair, snuggle under your favourite comfy blanket, have a cuppa and some cake or cookies beside you, the fire on, candles flickering, the tree lights twinkling and Christmas music playing in the background and immerse yourself in this book. You will not be sorry.

DNF @ 60%. Instead of a tension buildup it’s just tedious
Closer to 3.5 stars rounded down because toward the end I started to lose interest in the angst and upset. The story could have been shorter, in my opinion. I also didn’t love the implication that biological children are the only real children/the only way to pass down a legacy.
THREE OUT OF FIVE STARS!!! 6.00 CAWPILE
Let me start off by saying that I listened to this book on audio. Usually I love when an author reads their own book but in this case the author's accent really kind of ruined the book for me. Her accent is very thick and I felt I was struggling to understand her at times. It took me a few hours to get used to her voice and dictation.
The narrator definitely brought down the enjoyment of this book for me.
On the other hand when we look strictly at the writing and content of the book it was alright. The first half of the book was slow and I was pretty uninterested. I honestly wanted to put the book down at multiple times throughout listening to it but I stuck through it because it was recommended to me.
This book did pick up towards the middle and I found myself genuinely caring about Victoria and Oliver by the end. I do hope to pick up the other books in this series at some point.

The story is about Victoria, a bar manager who aspires to be a full-time fashion designer. Victoria also teaches a small group of underprivileged students in her flat above the bar she manages. The students are ready to exhibit their work, but they haven't found a venue yet.
Carrying home a large box of fabrics and accessories for her students, she literally bumps into Oliver, the son and heir to the Russell & Co department chain. After they dust themselves down, Oliver realises they can be of help to each other. Victoria needs a venue to showcase her students work, and he needs a fake fiancee to present to his parents at the new store opening.
Naturally, there are secrets and problems to overcome, and the biggest one as far as Victoria is concerned, has seen her previous boyfriend, Peter, end their relationship. Victoria fears Oliver will walk away just as Peter did, so closes herself off to the possibility of a real relationship with Oliver. Can they overcome their respective fears or is Victoria's secret determined to keep them apart?
I loved the main characters Victoria and Oliver. They felt very real and genuinely nice people. I couldn't help but want them to realise their love for each other and find happiness together. I didn't like Andrew, Oliver's cousin, whose jealousy of Oliver made him quite unpalatable. Nor did I like Peter. I think Victoria had a very lucky escape there!
As a debut novel, I thought it was of a good standard. The writing style is easy to read and I found Meet Me In London to be an uplifting story. I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to readers who enjoy a bit of chick-lit.
