Very statistic heavy, informative but not an easy read.

A must read for literally everyone in my opinion. Very engagingly and accessibly written too.

There were several facts I didn’t know, and several moments that had me sitting back and blinking as I was faced to my own assumptions, even as an avid feminist.
An interesting read.

Very informative and stats heavy. Opened my mind to consider how to be a stronger voice for women- especially in city planning and disaster planning.

this is a compilation of ways women have been ignored, belittled, and hurt through societies refusal to see women as needing to be accounted for. gender neutral is not actually gender neutral, and 99% of the time hurts women, which ultimately hurts all of us as a whole. every single example she brought up has been a lived experience for me as a woman. it is infuriating to read that according to the people in power, i don’t matter, simply because i am a woman. perez highlights examples of successes, and has cohesive themes throughout this book, which present a strong argument. unfortunately the people who need to grasp what this book is saying r the people who will send her hate comments and never ever take a single word to heart. as sad as that is, im taking the lessons to learn from this book myself, and applying to as much of my life and work as possible, and i recommend this as a read for everyone to truly grasp the gap women find themselves in.
