Didn't realize it was this short
This version of the audiobook was very weird...

A very interesting mystery. Sort of emotionless presentation of facts. A good mystery.

this is a pretty cookie cutter scandi noir detective story with all the tropes you're familiar with. there's no real big twist. there's no drip feeding of clues. you cannot re-read the novel and go "ah ha i get it now!". this book is more of a slice-of-life observation into the year of a swedish policeman. the prose is simple which has the potential to make the book dull, however i found it incredibly readable. it also helps that the book is relatively short; i don't think it would hold up if it was twice the length.

Wallander is flawed to the point of being really unlikable, I always struggle with protagonists like that. Story feels dated, nothing special.

No characters I could connect with. An older detective who's introduced by waking up from a sex dream and the author makes a point of mentioning that it's a black woman in his dream. The crime at the focus of the book is the murder of an elderly couple. Just not for me thanks.

Libro entretenido aborda temas que son de interés actual como la inmigración, la soledad de la vejez, drogas, etc. El personaje principal no me termino de gustar.
