“But she knew better than anybody, home wasn't a place; it's a state of mind."
"It's the people you're with. And for her, those people were all here.”

Shea has got to be one of the most amazing female protagonists I've ever seen.

Big nope. First two thirds are good but when it goes downhill it goes quickly and Nope.

This book really, really annoyed me in the end. While I generally really liked the main character and her resourcefulness, I really didn’t enjoy her magically falling in love with Fallon. It just destroyed her independence for me and was really rushed in the last couple of chapters.

Like the fmc, but see where the story is going and want nothing to do with a mmc who calls her a new toy. And he will 100% treat her like shit, nope, no thanks not for me.

Everyone in this book was phenomenally stupid.

3.5/3.75 stars. It would have been a solid 4 without the romance side plot, which was the weakest point in the novel. Shea is a fantastic protagonist. I was absorbed by the fifth or sixth chapter and I really loved the arc with Eamon and the others. I was really disappointed when, at around 70%, Shea is forced to be with Fallon. I really don't like the way Fallon treats her...

Started of pretty decent. Shae was smart, intelligent and resourceful. Then it just went downhill. Falling just rubbed me the wrong way. Too much macho and Alpha without much substance.

Competently written with an interesting setting. The heroine is great and carries the rating. The ''hero'' drags it down.
