Very quick read. Surprised that Betsyଁs roommates started dying; that was unexpected. How does a 30-year-old not understand even the simplest cellphone text abbreviations? At all? Sinclair, yes, but not Betsy.
Its a Betsy book and fit what I needed but this one took me longer than normal to get into. Still fun Vampire romance but maybe she has really run her storyline. Adult
Funny and sad as usual. Funny because Betsy is so not what everyone expects her to be. She is a monarch who doesn’t wanna control the lives of her subjects. She doesn’t judge people based on their race, gender, sexual orientation etc. Hell, she is friends with the Devil’s daughter. Sad because she remains lonely or “unwelcome” almost everywhere. She is willing to put her trust in people and learns otherwise after they have hurt her (or tried to kill her). Her husband is the king of vampires and even though he loves her, he is still a cold bloodsucking…well, vamp! Betsy is a misfit and I like her all the more for it.

I kind of felt like the story was two really long stretched out chapters worth of material. Too much random thoughts and nonsense by Betsy was detracting from the story.
These are fine but i don’t think they are for me. I’ve committed to reading them, so I will finish the series, but I’m not really enjoying them.
I know a lot of people have been disappointed in the last couple of books. I am not one of those people. I read this series to laugh and to cheer up. It's nice to read a "silly" book every once in awhile.
It took a little time getting used to, but I eventually loved the story being told from two POVs. We get Betsy's heart-broken "I don't know what to do!" story. We also get Dr. Marc's HILARIOUS commentary on how Laura has LHDM! Yes, the acronyms were a little perplexing at times. But, once I thought about what he must be witnessing they came to me a little quicker. Some were obvious like LOL. Others were a little more confusing. It just really played up Betsy's frustration with Marc's emails. My favorite Marc line had to be towards the end when he mentions being locked in a closet by Betsy. Then he says something like the "being in a closet part was not lost on him." I love the witty remarks, those make me laugh the most. I also love it when Sinclair hides his "smile" when he is particularly proud of Betsy.
I also love the new developments with BabyJon. Can't wait to see what Ms. Davidson does next!

Series is definitely doing downhill. I want to finish it but I find myself not caring at all. I need some growth from Betsy. None in 8 books is wild.
I'll read one more and if it doesn't wow me I'm taking the rest off my TBR

I don't know if I can continue reading this series. The author tries to be funny, and I guess it's just not my kind of humor, because it comes of more annoying than funny. And the main character, Betsy, seems to get more clueless and self-centered by the book. I don't really care about her as a character, and I find that I don't really care about any of the characters. They're not written in a way that you can become attached to them.
A lot of it may have to do with the first person narrative. I've never cared for it. I almost always find the character whiny, selfish, and unlikeable. It makes it hard for me to get into the story. For about half of the book, I contemplated giving up or heavily skimming. But then it got fairly interesting, and since it's a short book with big words, I just kept on reading and finished it. I wouldn't recommend this unless you're hooked on this series, or unless you're a glutton for punishment.

Page 50: Loving Marc's bit's. Never realised he was so funny. So sad that Betsy and Sinclair have had to go to Cape Cod but gives a new setting for them to deal with. Hanging out to see the real reason why the WW's are avoiding BabyJon.Page 100: Is it wrong that I want to read an entire book from Marc POV.
