It's been a while since I picked up a Betsy book... I'm pretty sure I read the first few books in the series, way back when... =) Anyway, I was reminded of why it was "way back when".
Betsy is like that fluffy thing-on-a-stick that you get at fairs and ball games (does it still come on a stick?)... All fluffiness, and not a whole lot else. Everything that happens is taken care of by those who love her.
Granted, the book is funny--I especially enjoyed Marc's acronym-laden emails, and his diary entries. But that was pretty much it. You'll like this book for a few hours of brainless, mindless, fluff, or if you're a fan of Betsy's. Otherwise, skip it.

I really love this series and was so excited to go to the library and see a new book out.
Betsy Taylor has problems that only a vampire queen/suburban wife could possibly understand. Such as taking the body of her werewolf friend Antonia-who died in her service-to Cape Cod, where she's not sure if the Wyndham werewolves will welcome her with fangs or friendship. Meanwhile, her posse back in St. Paul is sending frantic e-mails alerting Betsy to her half-sister's increasingly erratic behavior. Looks like the devil's daughter is coming into her own-and raising hell.

First half of this book was pure and utter trash. I nearly put it down never to pick it up again. I find it insane to take half of the book basically explaining what happened in the previous 7 (why the hell buy this just for a recap?!). I stuck with it just because after 7 books I was sickly invested. It got much better after the first half, not great but better than crap.
And so the time has come to set Betsy aside, until her tales continue when #9 (Undead and Unfinished – To be released July 6, 2010) is released. Unwelcome was a sort of redemption from the near flat-lining Undead & Unworthy. It's definitely got me interested in finding out how Davidson is planning on wrapping up the trilogy, and particularly how the Laura character is going to evolve or rather regress...
In the mean time I'm fighting the urge to read the sample chapter on her website and am prowling the kindle store and goodreads for my next read.

MJD does it again! This is yet another absolutely enjoyable installment in the Betsy series. Betsy is my queen and totally rocks! I enjoyed the diary by Mark as well as the good use of the weres. And BabyJon! OMG! You gotta read about little BabyJon!
Probably my least favorite book of the series so far. It still had some funny, entertaining parts. will continue and finish the series, but it is losing a bit of it's appeal for me. Hopefully #9 gets better.
The 8th book in the "Undead" series by Mary Janice Davidson. Once again Betsy finds herself in trouble. This book picks up shortly after where the 7th left off. Betsy has to go and answer to the werewolves for Antonia's demise, BabyJon has a secret, and we once again see Satan's Daughter (Laura) flip her lid and show what she is capable of.
That was a very quick read and felt more like a novella than a fully fleshed out stand alone story.
This book begins when Eric, Betsy, Jessica, and the baby must go to the werewolves to take home the one who died. Betsy already feels guilty, and they have no idea what to expect with the Pack.
Betsy learns some things about her baby brother, and she also ends up impressing the werewolves. However, she still has a lot of trouble coming her way.
This book was okay. I didn't like the way it switched point of views, that was annoying. Other than that I liked it. But I really don't know what to think about Betsy's sister, and I really hate that that is so unresolved.
I do look forward to more though.
