I have read a few Debra Anastasia books in the past so I had a bit of an idea of what to expect.

Hazel is brilliant. This is how I picture her for the first half of the book!

She is snarky and perhaps a little bit broken and bitter after a break up.

"Pounding three glasses in less than fifteen minutes was going to make her feel like she was getting tea-bagged by an angry clown in the morning."

Wolf... well, what is there to say about Wolf. Dark Lashes, hot as Hades.

And drives Hazel crazy!

Fighting is foreplay for Wolf and Hazel. They bicker and snarl, the piss and vinegar is just one big lead up to the main event.

They are so adorable in their denial of their attraction to each other. To be a fly on the wall (or their best friends watching from the sidelines!)

I laughed, I cried, I got angry but most of all I wanted, no needed Hazel and Wolf to get their HEA.

Thank you Ms Anastasia for another great read.

Where do I sign up?

Forget Plenty of Fish.

Forget Tinder.

I want Wolf. £1000 at the ready so I can join Booty Camp Dating Services and get 110% satisfaction. I want Wolf to find my soul mate.

He would totally match me with Adam Levine because he is my soul mate. Wolf would see, just by looking at our photos, that we were meant to be together forever. Adam would show me his moves like Jagger and it would be rainbows and butterflies.

Dating agencies have lots to learn from Wolf.

Debra Anastasia is just weird! She writes deep and meaningful Pough, she writes complex plot Revenger and then laugh out loud stuff like this. I can't get my head around it. Talking of head....Hazel and Wolf are a match made in heaven.

This is a funny, funny, funny, lil bit sexy book that will resonate with singletons and those in happy coupledom i.e. everyone. Apologies to my co-workers for disturbing their lunch when I spat out my drink .

Quotes:

"He was debonair. And looked like maybe he slept in a steroid hyperbolic chamber. He was body-builder ripped. He'd said "ladies" but he was looking at Claire like she was a grilled chicken meal that fit right into his training program."

"He pulled her hips closer to him and wedged his shoulders lower under her thighs so he could wear her sex like a face mask."

"Fuck him. Well no. No fucking him. He was a dick face. Dickey McDickface, and her father did not raise a daughter to be a Booty call for a douche banana."

I loved this funny, refreshingly weird book.

what a great story. i loved the names chance and Wolfgang.
wolf and hazel have such a funny relationship ship with the banter, arguments then steamy moments.
loved this book.
this was my first read by Debra Anastasia but will definitely not be my last.

My queen of romance humor has struck AGAIN!!! Debra Anastasia never fails to bring a realistic and dysfunctional romance. Her wording, speech, and situations just make you think to yourself as you read "yeah this could totally happen to me" and "hell yeah I would do just that!!" There were only a few times throughout reading this that I was a little disappointed because it felt like scenes were being repeated unnecessarily. Overall, I really, really enjoyed this book!!!

Wolf and Hazel are HILARIOUS!!! I loved all the sassiness, straight forward answers, and steamy HOT sex scenes!! The secondary characters are just as amazing and I would really be interested in reading more about this couple and all those introduced.

I was surprised by this one; considering humor is one of the genres, I expected it to be funnier. It’s not that it doesn’t have its moments of humor or that it isn’t funny, but rather humor is not a focus.

I liked this book. The premise is unique and the characters are generally likable; however, the pace dragged at some points and the secondary characters also felt somewhat useless other than the fact that they forced the main couple together.
I still enjoyed reading Hazel and Wolf’s love story, but these issues dragged down my rating.

Wolf is an interesting and somewhat unique character, particularly his view on love, which have been heavily influenced by his matchmaking abilities. Someone whose job it is to find other people’s partners, who knows that perfect matches exists, but doesn’t have his own match is an interesting concept to explore. The concept itself isn’t entirely unique as a character who believes in love, but has given up on love for themselves is actually quite common, but Wolf’s circumstances and where these thoughts stem from is unique.
SpoilerWolf’s family has repeatedly warned him that a matchmaker is cursed to never find their own match. He didn’t listen to their warnings, and married a woman who he was told was not his perfect match out of rebellion. Then, he had to watch as his wife met her perfect match, and he could see that she found her perfect partner. How can he fault her for that? Can he be angry when he knew that the marriage was doomed to fail anyway and when his wife found love? He tried and failed to find love, which only served to confirm his belief that he wasn’t met for it. He wasn’t betrayed; his fault lied in trying to rebel against his “fate” in the wrong way.

People will likely like Hazel due to her spunky nature and relatable/lamentable situation. She’s outspoken when angry, which makes for some funny moments, but Hazel is less interesting in terms of backstory; I’ve read about characters who’ve had their partner cheat on them, and Hazel wasn’t as distinctive as I would have liked. Scott was a typical douche who broke her heart. Hazel suffers from insecurity due to her previous failed relationship, but I felt like this point could have been fleshed out more. Hazel’s hesitation towards Wolf was understandable; she just got betrayed in a terrible way, so she’s not ready to trust someone so completely with her heart.

The chemistry between Hazel and Wolf was great. Generally, I enjoyed their banter, and loved the sexual tension between the two. There were times where the misunderstandings became tedious though. Misunderstanding are inevitable in relationships and stories about relationships, but they weren’t asking questions to the answers they needed to know. They didn’t confront each other about the issues they had. Wolf was being indecisive, while Hazel was still recovering from her last relationship.

SpoilerI found Hazel’s actions is the beginning a bit irrational. She knew what she was getting into when Claire dragged her to Booty Camp. If I didn’t want to go somewhere, no way would I let anyone, including my best friend, drag me anywhere, especially if I had to shell out a thousand dollars. That’s a lot of money! And then she just starts yelling at the staff because they won’t refund her money due to the contract that SHE signed. People seemed to find it snarky and spunky, but I just found her irrational.

When I first read about the insta-love between Chance and Claire, I wasn’t surprised. A lot of romance novels that I’ve read have the best friend of the female lead and best friend of the male lead get together/already are together. The problem is that Chance and Claire’s only purpose seemed to be to force Hazel and Wolf together. I didn’t mind the insta-love because Chance and Claire weren’t the stars of this romance, but I would have preferred a tone back on the speed of their relationship because it reduced their characters to mere plot devices.

SpoilerThe other issue was Claire’s overprotectiveness of Hazel, which contrasted starkly against Chance’s defense of his best friend. This one might be my over-analysis of things. Claire and Hazel bash Wolf, with Hazel convinced he’s a jerk playboy. Considering how close Chance and Wolf are portrayed to me, I was frustrated that Hazel’s perception of Wolf was never questioned or corrected by his best friend, Chance. Chance knows Wolf isn’t a playboy and that his hesitation with Hazel has a reason behind it. Apparently Chance explained some of this to Claire, but not to Hazel. And he never gave his friend the advice he needed to hear. Claire was too overbearing, while Chance didn’t seem to care enough about his friend’s happiness. Maybe he knows that Wolf wouldn’t appreciate him butting into his business, but Chance doesn’t seem like the type to hold back when Wolf needs his advice. I remember him bringing up Wolf’s sister, which is a very sore subject, so it doesn’t seem like Chance holds back with Wolf.

Another issue is the imbalance in the characters’ perceptions of the main leads. Every character seemed to praise Hazel and all her amazing qualities, but criticized Wolf. The actions and events seemed to say that Wolf didn’t deserve Hazel, that if this relationship failed, Wolf would be the one losing out. But Hazel and Wolf both have issues and imperfections.

Wolf is a great guy, beyond his good looks. He’s a great friend, a great brother, and an overall nice guy. He doesn’t flirt around, he’s protective of Hazel, but not to the point of being controlling. Yes, he’s moody and grumpy, but if that’s the worst you can say about a person, it’s really not that bad.

The reason I got this perception is that most of the characters have a negative impression of Wolf. Hazel’s inner monologue is usually saying something akin to “Screw Wolf.” Claire is always saying something along the lines of “If Wolf doesn’t see how great you are, then screw him.” Chance doesn’t ever defend his friend. Wolf has a crappy perception of himself, so he’s usually like “I would screw up Hazel’s life.” And the rest of our characters are interested in Hazel, so they aren’t concerned with Wolf. On the other hand, Hazel is portrayed in a much more positive light, her beauty constantly acknowledged with words and the pursuing of numerous male characters.

I will acknowledge that my analysis on this point is likely a little biased. I liked Wolf more than Hazel, so my interpretation might be skewed.

So, in summary: I liked the originality in the plot premise, and the chemistry between the main characters. Wolf was especially interesting to analyze, but the other characters besides the main two lacked a similar depth. The pace slowed down during certain sections, but the overall plot line was satisfying. Romance fans will likely enjoy this read, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone who doesn’t enjoy contemporary romances.

Hell yeah this was awesome!!!

My sister had a day surgery today so I was in the waiting room for about 4 hours with 3 books loaded in my iBooks. None of them particularly screamed at me to be read so I went with Booty Camp first and hot damn am I glad I did.

Obviously I was on my phone so I didn't take any notes or flag anything as awesome but I know I laughed a hell of a lot. Here's the condensed-gives-you-little-to-no-actual-information cliff notes version of my feelings: Wolf (yes lmao his real name) was cranky and great. Hazel was a hardass, snarky, sweet and so great. Sex scenes (even though there were only 3 of them.. which is strange for a book that had everyone spouting filthy shit all the time), we're pretty

All that plus the super sweet ending had me like
description

Solid 4 start this book had me feelin nice.

Wolf Saber is the founder and matchmaker for Booty Camp Dating Service which has made him very successful. Success of a match is 110% guaranteed!?!? There are huge waiting lists around the country for Booty Camp’s traveling dating services! There is one problem; according to his mother and grandmother, whom he inherited the abilities from, he will never find his own match. So Wolf stays mostly behind the scenes letting his best friend, Chance be the face of BCDS. He also keeps to himself a lot in his day-to-day life to ward off any more heartache at not being able to make a relationship work.
Hazel Lavender had a humiliating and naked breakup happen just a few short months ago so when her best friend, Claire, surprises her with a Booty Camp event invite she is less than thrilled. The one thousand dollar fee doesn’t help matter either since as a special education teacher money is a little tight. Chance and Claire meet and instantly fall in love at the first BCDS event but Hazel and Wolf? Well, sparks fly but mostly in the "I’m-Going-To-Kill-You-With-My-Bare-Hands" kind of way!
Arguing and flipping each other off may be their first instincts when seeing each other but there is definitely an underlying attraction that both Wolf and Hazel want to deny but can’t. Wolf’s fears and strict Booty Camp rule of no dating the customers keeps him from acting on his attraction to Hazel and Hazel’s fear of another humiliation keeps her in check as well. Is it just lust or something more? Can they get past their issues and get together or not?

My Thoughts:
I like Hazel’s character in this story in that she is spunky and strong despite her heartbreak and humiliation. She stands up for herself and even though at times she is scared of what she is feeling for Wolf. Claire as her best friend is supportive, hilarious but pushy just when Hazel needs to be pushed. Chance and Clair’s secondary story of their whirlwind romance is a lot of fun as well!
This book is funny and at time sweet with a tiny bit of angst to make it all interesting. I did find at times that it was a little choppy at times and just didn’t flow for me. Also, towards the end my head spun a bit from going from flowery romance to total raunch within just a paragraph or two. A few times I wish that we got a few more pages added in to help us get more inside the heads of the two main characters. I would have liked to have had a little more backstory on Wolf especially pertaining to his gifts. I do think that this is the start of what could be a fun, sexy new series and I am excited to see what the next installment will bring us!

Hazel is grating on my nerves. She signs a contract for a dating service but demands her money back in the most rude and immature way. I kept reading for the story to turn, but I kinda realized Hazel was not getting any nicer and after the fiasco in Wolf's office (which started off hot!) I was done.
