I cannot imagine having to go on a week long trip in a van with no AC. My siblings and I travel about 8 hours to get to our grandparents but any more than that and is too much. This was definitely relatable especially considering that I too have a younger brother and sister, I like to getting to know more about the author's relationships with her siblings and thought this was a sweet story about growing up and growing closer to your siblings.
Happy Reading my Friends.

I very much enjoyed this book! I loved following Raina and Amara and could definitely relate to their sibling struggles! Raina is a character I would love for my students to read and talk about. I think this graphic novel would be a great conversation starter, and would be a fantastic text to supplement themes we study in the classroom such as problem solving, friendship, relationships, family, and decision making.
I loved the flashbacks that helped shed light on the current events in the main story line. They helped unveil character motivations, feelings, and were just plain fun!
I am thankful that my students were so enthusiastic about Raina Telgemeier's other books, because that's what encouraged me to read this! I can definitely see what the appeal is, and I am excited to read more titles by this wonderful author/illustrator!

Good! I liked this a lot as a kid, it was pretty fun now, too.

This is such a great graphic novel! Easy to read with a fun, realistic view of family and the relationships within the family. And the illustrations are fantastic as really help tell the story!
While Raina and Amara have a very realistic and often fight filled relationship as depicted in the story, they also love each other and are there for each other when it really comes down to it.
Lydia: 8 yrs and up. No bad language, no violence, realistic depiction of a sisters relationship with each other so there is quite a bit of bickering but nothing too severe, conversation around parents spending time apart but not necessarily splitting up (hints that it could happen but book ends before you would find out).
