Stormbringer is the original conclusion of Elric Saga, and it does end with such finality, I struggle to think how he was able to write more books. Elric has been a very dubious anti-hero/villian and he certainly is unable to avoid consequences and the chaos torn world truly effects everyone. Trying not to spoil much, but Stormbringer was the most concisely told and focused of all of the Elric novels. I'm quite glad I started this journey, it was well worth it.

A full-length novel that weaves together the best elements of the Elric saga thus far.
With the fate of the world at stake, Elric and his companions journey to distant lands and dimensions, seeking allies and a means to stop the evergrowing and overwhelming forces of Chaos.
Stormbringer is so full of spiralling adventure, triumph, and tragedy. The ending is delightful. Such a fun read.

Dangggg what an ending!! Less philosophy from Elric but overall story/use of Fate very in line with the philosophy throughout the rest of the series. As you would expect from the title, lots of exploration of the effects of Stormbringer on Elric even more so than in previous books.

Overall very good but minus one star because Elric’s answer to “would you still love me if I was a worm” was a resounding no.

Magnificently apocalyptic conclusion to the series. Everything Moorcock added to the Elric saga after this lacked the spark of the original run of novellas, which this was the climax to. Full review: https://fakegeekboy.wordpress.com/2011/03/06/a-cure-for-conan/

The final book in the Elric Saga pulls out all the stops. A human sorceror has joined forces with the Lords of Chaos to take over the earth. Elric and company must stop them, or the world will be unmade into pure chaos. "Stormbringer" is the only book in the Elric sequence that feels truly like a full novel, rather than a collection of short novellas. No longer a picaresque adventure, this one is deadly serious. It feels quite appropriate that Elric, who always called on Chaos for assistance, and carries a chaos blade, must now defeat them to save everything. Elric learns that regardless of the outcome, there will be no place for him in the world, as it will either turn to pure chaos or be remade by the Lords of Law, and in due course, he will lose everything he cares about. His quest to defeat Chaos regardless allows our anti-hero to finally become a hero.
