Victoria Wilder did it again!!! I wanna climb Lincoln Foxx like a tree and bask in the hotness and badassary of Faye Rose Calloway!
She's such a baddas FMC, a burlesque dancer AND a private investigator??? Sign me up!
Faye and Linc's relationship from hatred to love is quite up there in the hotness level. Their chemistry is through the roof and it was equally beautiful when it developed into love. Victoria did such a fantastic job showing their compatibility and attraction to one another – but who wouldn't be attracted to Faye?
Also the spice??? It was the best spice I've read this year!!!!
Let's not forget the suspense part in this book. It's quite well done. I can see the work and research that Victoria put in to build this world of private investigating.
I also can't not talk about Victoria's writing style. She can make it gritty when needed, then suspenseful, then hot! The world she built is so immersive and the characters I could picture so clearly.
This is a raw disjointed review coming from me. I love this book. Obsessed! No notes. I can't wait for book 3. Read this series!

This was so good? 😭 I was not prepared for how much I was going to love Linc and Faye.
Yes the spice was great (really great), but I loved the strong emphasis on family and relationships. I was so happy for Faye and Maggie to get in a good place and find their way back to each other, and how the Foxx family took Faye in. The scenes where Faye, Lincoln, Lark and Lily were just together at home were so beautiful, I could just continue reading about that little family being happy together after all they had gone through.
There were so many cute and funny moments, the girls swindling Lincoln into getting a dog and a cow was hilarious. Bless my dark romance heart, I needed this.
And Griz, he’s just amazing ❤️

Audiobook Rating 4.5/5
Book Rating 4/5
Sometimes there’s a thin line between hate and love. Things get more complicated and those lines get blurred when you mix in blackmail, secrets, and physical attraction that leads to a deeper emotional connection. But boy, does it make for some great tension.
Lee and Megan brought life to these characters with their narrations. You weren’t just told the story, it felt like you were there. Especially for the interactions between Faye and Lincoln. You could feel Lincoln’s frustration and Faye’s sass. The duet style was great.
Megan is a new to me narrator and I’m already looking for my next listen.
This read had a nice balance of so many elements (the tension & chemistry between Faye & Lincoln, the suspense of what’s going on around town, Lincoln’s adorable daughters & their antics, and the family/found family love.)
For me this book had a bit of a slower pace to the plot. But there are some plot twists that make the ride worth it. I can’t wait to pick up the next book, Bourbon & Proof.

Knew Lincoln’s book would be awesome. He loves so fiercely, and is a protector of his family. She had him since that kiss so many years ago. Faye wasn’t supposed to return to town but she had to take care of some things. She was a great burlesque dancer and wasn’t afraid or ashamed for loving it and her body. She knew her worth. The girls were a bonus in this book, made me laugh. They might of fell in love before their dad did. 100% a reread for next year. Great book. Off to the next Foxx brother.
SO... of course it's 5 star from me, cos you know i love the Foxx boys! (is it bias, i don't care)
You've seen all the tropes, so I wont bother repeating any of it, just know that Victoria Wilder excelled in delivering one of my favourites this year (which Bourbon & Lies was already an instant favourite!!) and yes, the series just keeps getting better, so my hope is going to be high for Bourbon & Proof, that's going to be another story altogether wink.
My favourite part of the book is definitely the plot, I was immersed with the twist & turn of the story, I couldn't guess where the plot is going to take me, but the ride was so good! (ME LOVE!)
I don't really know how to explain this book, i just know that I love it!

Bourbon. Secrets. And one very broody Foxx.
I swore no one could top Grant Foxx… then Lincoln waltzed in with that smolder, that single dad tenderness, and those secrets. And BOOM! I fell in love!
This book is enemies-to-lovers adjacent with enough slow-burn tension to fry your nerves, but when the spice hits, boy does it hit! Then come the twists that knock the wind out of your lungs. Every time I thought I had it figured out… nope. Plot twist. Again.
And can we talk about the FMC?
A badass burlesque dancer who owns every room she’s in. Bold, smart, and the kind of heroine who doesn’t wait to be saved—she is the storm.
If you’re craving mystery with spice, emotional depth, and a hero who wears fatherhood like armor—Bourbon and Secrets delivers.
Foxx brothers: 2
Me: emotionally ruined, again.

Omg! So good! So many storyline get resolved and you learn so much in this book! I loved the narrators on this! They were just perfect! Lincoln Fox is just yummy on the page and man if he was real…whew, I would definitely take a look or two or three! I will say I really do not like Wazz…total creep psycho factor. I also love Lily and Lark. I love their little personalities and I love their relationship with their dad. Now, I love Faye and how badass she is! She is a fixer, in life, in her family, in everything. But I love that when she need help fixing she finally gets to lean on someone else. Love her alter ego as a burlesque dancer, gives her that confidence to be whoever she wants to be. I also loved how she finally resolved her relationship with her sister Maggie. So much good in this one! They just keep getting better!

Duet Narration by Megan Wicks and Lee Samuels
The Foxx brothers and Fiasco, Kentucky, have captured my heart! This storyline and audio lived up to my expectations and more. It included several of my favorite tropes: single dad, mystery/ suspense, hate-to-love, small-town, with family/town secrets, with some blackmail. Lincoln and Faye had a history from five years ago, but their connection was undeniable, even with intense interactions; the chemistry was palpable. Faye's friendship with Lark and Lily was heartwarming, and they had some shenanigans with the girls! The secrets were plentiful, and at every turn! So many family secrets, small-town drama and/or gossip, and people not being what they seem.. Overall, this story was one I couldn't put down, and it delivered a phenomenal listening experience with both the storytelling and narration.
Duet Narration by Megan Wicks and Lee Samuels was so well done. Megan Wicks is a fairly new narrator to me, and she has quickly become a favorite. Both Wicks and Samuels delivered exceptional performances with heartfelt emotions when needed. They had me feeling the story on a deeper level and brought everything to life for me.
