goddamn yes!!! now this is what i was expecting from the first book but just never got!!

Lincoln Foxx, the man that you are!! a sexy single dad plot has never been so good, the whole thing just worked from start to finish. it never once felt like the relationship between him and Faye came out of nowhere. and Faye, good lord, that woman😩 no wonder Lincoln was whipped from the word go!

i actually didn’t think i was gonna get as emotionally attached as i did but i loved the dynamic between Faye and Maggie, and i think Victoria did so well at navigating the story of two little girls who had lost their mother but were trying to let in another woman into their lives.

i’m really pleased with how this one went, i can only hope that the third book is just as good🤞

"Kissing this woman is like getting lost and finding where I'm meant to be all at once."

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dear lord I am such a sucker for these Foxx boys.

I loved learning more about Lincoln and his past regarding his late wife.
That history broke my heart for him and his girls.
But seeing the inner workings of his family and their dynamic had me absolutely melting.

Faye is a baddie and I love her? Hello?
She knows she's a baddie and she knows how to deal with those who do her wrong.

Lincoln and Faye's relationship evolution was great, and I absolutely adore these two together.
The tension between them gave me absolute life.
Don't even get me started on the show the two of them put on for everyone.
That scene had me absolutely dead. It ruined me in all the best ways. IYKYK.

"How do you like your bourbon?" "Any way you want to give it to me, Foxx."

The narrators, Megan Wicks and Lee Samuels, 100% did their characters justice, and also gave life to the small town of Fiasco, KY.
They suited their characters and I loved every minute of their narration.

Thank you, Victoria Wilder and Luna Literary, for the opportunity to listen to this ALC!

First of all, let's take a moment for the cover of Bourbon & Secrets. Because if that isn't perfection, I don't know what is.
Next, Hello Daddy Lincoln!! And sassy, bada$$ Faye.
I'll say it again and again, but I'm here for all those single dad romances and this one gave me even more. The suspense. The history. The family. The sass. And a little bit of second chances. And those girls of Lincoln's? Just the perfect addition to the story.

While I liked the first book, I loved this one even more. I liked how the author introduced both Faye and Lincoln in the past and how they crossed paths and both had a night of trauma that caused them to run in very different ways. Fast forward years later and Faye has returned to Fiasco for not only her sister, but a job. And when Lincoln finds out, he wants her gone. Immediately. But there's something about Faye he can't resist, even if their past blurs some lines and hides some secrets that no one else knows about.

I loved Daddy Lincoln and loved Faye. Their characters were well fleshed out and I could feel who they were. They both carry such strong and beautiful personalities that float right off the page. I was intrigued by them and their connection. I loved their tension and how electric their chemistry was, even when Lincoln didn't want it to be. I also loved the way Lincoln cared for his daughters. Those girls were great supporting characters and they helped push the story and the romantic relationship forward. The intimate moments with all of them as a "family" worked really well. And I can't forget about the rest of the Foxx men as well as Faye's sister. I enjoyed seeing them added to the mix, along with the suspense and mystery of why Faye had to return.

There was a twist toward the end that I didn't see coming, but I liked that it was added. It brought an aspect of the first story to this one, combining the two in a very loose manner.

I am loving these Foxx brothers and the whole Bourbon, Lies, Secrets and Town of Fiasco storylines. The stories themselves have gotten stronger over the course of the two books. But the real strength in this one was the fact that I loved both MCs so much. I can't wait to read about the older Foxx brother next, but I sure hope we get to see all of our favorite past characters too.

"You show up for your family and the people you care about, and that's always been what love looks like to me. You are what love looks like to me."

4.25-4.5 stars.

Whew, what a ride that was! Victoria Wilder knows how to write a damn good book. And let me tell you, I loved Bourbon and Lies, Bourbon and Secrets is JUST as good, if not even better! Ohh and the tidbits we got of Ace…dear gawd I can’t wait to read his book! 🔥 Wilder has a way of weaving tension and mystery in a story, leaving you feeling ALL THE THINGS, and yet wanting SO much more. Like, to live in Fiasco, Kentucky with The Bourbon Boys. 😅 PLUS, we were treated to an absolute delightful and sexy narrative performance by new-to-me Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks. O.M.G. They were EVERYTHING!

The Foxx brothers are cursed. That curse rears its ugly head at the beginning of this story, on a fateful night that Faye Calloway and Lincoln Foxx crossed paths in the dark of night. It was this encounter that sent Faye fleeing Fiasco. Years later Faye returns, leaving Lincoln fuming at her reappearance. Angry though he may be, he can’t help the undeniable attraction he has toward Faye. She has dreaded encountering the glasses wearing Foxx, but the pull towards him is not something that can be ignored. The tension between them is palpable, and every interaction they have is firecracker hot.

Oh my, I really enjoyed this story! Lincoln and Faye had that perfect amount of hate-to-love, semi-“slow burn but actually not,” that made this so much fun to read. The build up was great, the truths that unraveled, the shocking twists and turns, all of it had me devouring this book in two days. If I can’t stop thinking about the book and consume it in as little time as possible, then it’s a five star for me! That is my favorite type of book! Lincoln is such a great dad, seeing his love for his daughters and the length he goes to for them? Gah. So sweet. And Faye, she is fierce. She is protective. She is selfless. She is a freaking badass. How she is with everyone around her, but especially Lincoln’s girls? No wonder he fell so hard!

This is my first time listening to Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks, and I have to say, I’m now fans of both of them! Samuels range may not vary to much between the characters, but you KNOW who it is by the intensity of the characters. That he performed in droves! There couldn’t be anyone else who could’ve been a better Lincoln! He embodied him, heart and soul! And Wicks, my gosh, her sultry voice was absolute perfection for the sultry Faye Calloway. I was blown away by her. She fit the part so well, I felt like Faye herself was in my AirPods speaking. Samuel and Wicks were perfectly cast and each gave an incredible performance! I can’t wait to hear more from them!

I can’t thank Victoria Wilder and HomeCookedBooks enough for allowing me to listen and review this title. I feel so privileged to be able to do this. This book was so well written and narrated. I am in awe of the world and characters Wilder created. I NEED more Foxx and Fiasco in my life! Seriously, everyone NEEDS this series in their life! And I still can’t get over the artwork on the covers. Talk about STUNNING!

🥃“Is that a knife strapped to your leg?” She quirks an eyebrow. “Did you just think I was happy to see you, Foxx?”
🍑“See, Ace, I never thought I’d need to explain this to grown-ass men. But you and that one over there”—I nod to Lincoln. He crosses his arms and glares at me—“ should know that most women nowadays don’t lead their lives based on the expectations of men. Maybe if you realized that, then you might walk around less surprised by our choices and more aware of yours.”
🥃“Beg me for my fingers, Peach.”
🍑“You don’t want a nice girl right now, Foxx.” “What do I want, then, hmm?” A small moan crawls up her throat as she says, “You want someone to tell you to be a good boy and do what you’re told.”
🥃“You sound so pretty when you’re pissed off and moaning for me.”
🍑“You’re pretty when you’re pissed off too, Foxx. Too bad I couldn’t get you to moan for me this time.”
🥃“I know you’re watching me walk away,” I call out as I turn my head to the side. “Hard not to when you consider how much I liked watching you come,”
🍑“You call me Peach like I’m sweet, but Foxx, you know better. I’m the furthest thing from sweet.” “See, that’s where you’re wrong.” I yank her hips forward. The move jerks her closer and forces her chest to press into mine. “I’ve never tasted anything as sweet as what you dripped all over my fingers.”

“How do you like your bourbon?"
"Any way you want to give it to me, Foxx."

Okay I am absolutely LOVING this series!!! The first book, Bourbon and Lies, I read a couple months ago and was so hooked! I was so excited to start this next book and omg it did not disappoint! I was hooked right from that prologue! It just completely sucked me in and I could not put the book down once I started! (Same for the first book!) This book though there’s just something about Lincoln and Faye, their chemistry is explosive right from the start even when they hated each other. Just so much hostility between them and the underlying attraction they couldn’t fight. Both Linc and Faye are great strong developed characters which I loved. LINCOLN FOX yall 🥵 Lincoln "I never planned on loving you, Peach. But now, I never plan on stopping." Fox - this man! SWOON 😮‍💨 We love a sexy single dad with slutty little glasses 😍 And FAYE! Omg what a baddie I loveddd her take not sh!t attitude! She is so fierce and cool! Lincoln and Faye together were just such a good match they really balanced one another out and despite the initial hostility between them they really do have a lot in common and were kindred spirits. I also loved how Faye just fit right in with their family and how Lincoln’s girls bonded with her so quickly. It was adorable seeing them together I loved all those moments! Seriously such a good book (and series!!) if you haven’t read these yet what are you doing? Definitely add to your TBR!!! I’m dying to read the third book now while also holding it off because of not wanting the series to end 😅 ahhh can’t wait to listen to Bourbon and Proof next! ♥️

"With Lincoln Foxx, it feels bigger than a simple word like love. When I'm with him, it feels like home."

The audiobook was SO GOOD! Duet narration from Megan Wicks and Lee Samuels who were both amazing for Faye and Lincoln! Absolutely loved both audiobooks for this series so far and would highly recommend!! Thank you so much Victoria and Home Cooked Books for an ALC! 🫶🏼

"You are so many things, Faye, but the only thing I'm really hoping that you never want to stop being is ours."

I listened to the audiobook version of this story and it was good. The mystery and suspense revolving around the storyline was super interesting and kept me invested. I love a good plot within a spicy book and the plot in this story was great. I found the romance between Lincoln and Faye a bit lacking. There wasn't much chemistry there until the last quarter of the book and the banter wasn't really on point. I did love the relationship between Faye and Lincoln's girls, and the parts about the pets were hilarious. The end took me by complete surprise and I love how that story evolved. The narration by Lee Samuels and Megan Wicks was pretty good. Now I can't wait for the next audiobook.
