I love and hate this book at the same time. Very poor example as far as environmental responsibility/conservation goes, but lots of other important and beautiful points. So I read it and discuss the good and the bad.

Beautiful story with an important message. Leave the world a better place. Do something beautiful for it and others. Loved that the nice old lady was once a Librarian before traveling the world and settling by the sea.

"Live your life in a way that makes the world more beautiful & also have adventures and live by the sea along the way" is a message we should promote more in life.

There was a time in my life when I wanted to be just like Miss Rumphius when I got old. Come to think of it, maybe that time hasn't passed!

I've read Miss Rumphis numerous times. The story is always as fresh as her flowers.

A gorgeous little picture book. The illustrations are stunning, and the story feels comforting and sweet without being saccharine.
