Spice was spicy. Plot was average. All in all, I loved it.
If you want more substance over spice this is not the read for you. Read the TW.

People rating it low for being step siblings isn’t fair since it’s stated. It’s a taboo dark romance

This is a perfect fit for readers who enjoy complex, emotional, and steamy contemporary romance stories that explore themes of vulnerability, intimacy, and the blurred lines between reality and fantasy, with a focus on the intricate dynamics of step-sibling relationships and the allure of the voyeuristic gaze.

4.5? the trope didn’t really do it for me meh

"You think depression is something to be ashamed of, Garrett? You didn't choose this any more than Mia's dad chose to have cancer. If he were my best friend, what kind of man would I be if I left him alone in his apartment when he was sick?"

Eyes on Me by Sara Cate completely consumed me in the best way possible. I picked it up on a Saturday afternoon thinking I’d just get a few chapters in, and before I knew it, it was 4:30 AM, and I was closing the book with red, swollen eyes. The way this story took hold of me was unreal.

Let’s talk about the spice—absolute fire. The chemistry between the characters was electric, and the way their connection deepened was so satisfying. But what really set this book apart for me was how the author wrote such real, layered characters. They weren’t just love interests—they were people. Their flaws, their growth, and their chemistry felt so authentic, and you couldn’t help but root for them every step of the way.

What blew me away, though, was the way the author tackled mental health. Too often, mental illness is either glossed over or romanticized in fiction, but here, it was portrayed with such raw honesty. It wasn’t some cliché “I can’t eat” or “I have dark circles under my eyes” trope. It was gritty and unapologetic, showing the real impact it can have on someone’s life. It was uncomfortable, heartbreaking, and absolutely gorgeous all at once. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that handled mental health so truthfully—it was so refreshing and powerful.

And let’s not forget about the female sex positivity. It was portrayed in such an empowering way. The way the characters, especially the female protagonist, owned their desires and experiences was delicious—it’s exactly the kind of representation we need more of. It was both empowering and liberating to read.

Overall, this book left me completely shaken in the best way possible. It’s a perfect mix of heart-pounding romance, gut-wrenching emotion, and unapologetic authenticity. I loved every page and am definitely not over this one.

👀🕵️😽

Giving this one star only because I’m so happy Garrett finally got a therapist in the epilogues (oops, spoiler). Being so weirdly proud of getting through his episodes without meds or therapy was a hot take ngl.

I wanted to write a well thought-out review but I don’t feel like this book deserves one. The back and forth didn’t feel well thought out. The timeline was WONKY and I’m confused about wether the parents live 20 min or 3 hrs away. Both was said.

I’m okay with them knowing each other for so long because it was made clear how he ONLY saw her as more after the cam girl incident.

I hated basically everything else. Garrett was whiny, Mia was childish. Did she really say she loved Drake after texting for 10 days via a CamGirl-App?!!!

I’m gonna stop or I’ll get mad at the author for such a bad book again.

Plus: the themes of the books 1+2 were so badly portrayed. It’s not praise if you degrade someone. It’s not voyeurism if you interrupt them to fuck them. Sorrynotsorry.
