Eyes On Me was a fantastic read, but I didn’t quite love it as much as the first book in the series. The plot had a refreshing take with a body-positive lead—curvy girls for the win! Mia’s sexy, unapologetic confidence was incredibly empowering, and it made her character easy to root for. Her self-assurance and the way she owns her space in the story were highlights that made me feel truly invested in her journey. I also loved how her confidence wasn’t just surface-level; it was about embracing her whole self, making her feel even more real and relatable.

One of the best moments in the book had to be the scene with both Mia and Garrett on stage. That moment was electric! Garrett’s vulnerability while grovelling in front of everyone was not only spicy but gave depth to his character, making him feel more than just the love interest. It showed his determination to win Mia back and hinted at the growth and change he was willing to undergo for her. The chemistry between them was intense, and the way they connected on both physical and emotional levels made the romance all the more gripping. The author definitely knows how to write spice!

On a deeper level, I was also impressed by how the book approached the topics of mental health and depression. Garrett’s struggle with depression and the mention of his near attempt to take his life were handled with such sensitivity and nuance. Those scenes tugged at my heartstrings, reminding me of the importance of showing empathy to people who may be fighting silent battles. Seeing Garrett’s journey toward self-acceptance and healing added a layer of authenticity to the story. It’s rare to see romance novels address such heavy topics in a way that feels both realistic and hopeful, and this book really nailed it.

Now, while I enjoyed a lot about this book, what kept me from giving it a full 5-star rating was the step-sibling romance aspect. It’s not a trope that works for me personally, especially since I have step-brothers myself—it just hits a little too close to home and made it harder for me to completely connect with the romantic dynamic between Mia and Garrett. That being said, for readers who don’t mind this type of setup, it’s well executed and won’t likely be an issue.

Overall, Eyes On Me is a captivating, emotionally charged romance with strong character growth and an empowering lead. If you’re looking for a spicy, thought-provoking read, this book will definitely deliver!

Despite being reminded of it a few times as long as I forgot that the FMC was 8 when the MMC met her and he was 21 it was an ok romance story. I’m usually ok with step-brother tropes but this one just felt icky when you remembered she was a small child when he met her and he was an adult.
I like this author and am going to read the next book in the series but this one just wasn’t it for me.

This was an excellent follow up to Praise! I will say, I have never felt more seen than when I was reading the acknowledgment of this book. I completely understood Garrett once we got to see the truth. I don’t know if I have ever wanted to hug a fictional character more…

I just can’t do the step sibling thing. If they were recent steps maybe I could have managed but they grew up together. And that’s just a no

I had such a good time with Praise, I had to continue on with the series, and I really liked this one. Meeting Garrett in the first book made me curious about his *ahem* interests, and boy did Sara Cate deliver. A lot like how Praise did, there was good touching moments, spicy moments, and a good representation of the characters individually as well as together. I liked how real Garrett's mental health was discussed and how Mia and his friends helped him. Very much enjoyed it!
