Not really what I expected. It explores the life of a young pregnant girl who lives with the trauma of her father's passing, and I think it really dictates the decisions she makes. I honestly didn't realize it at first but as the book went on, it is made very apparent that she is definitely struggling deeply with her life and future.

Her obsession with Jenny becomes really intense and scary. Very much stalkerish vibes. I felt extremely bad for her boyfriend and mother. The ending was really out of left field.

I thought this was going to be more lighthearted but it was really sad.

Fantastic writing and absolutely devastating. This was so much more emotional than I thought it would be and encompassed so much of what it feels like to be young and lost. The main character is complicated and relatable in a lot of difficult ways, but the writing remains gorgeous and pulled me in throughout.   difficult women >>>>

The main character is relatable and tragic, and she finds herself swept up in a dramatic connection with an older lady. The story reminds me of the terribly thought-out plans I had at 18. Maybe not quite as severe as this character’s, though.

There was so much I loved here and at the mid-point it was a five-star read. I loved the humour and dialogue in the first 2/3 and when there was a tough plot twist, i was not prepared. I still found it believable and was impressed with the author’s range. An impressive debut!
