Audiobook Read
Really enjoyed this one. Thorn and Eden are the sweetest couple. I really appreciated the no third act breakup. You could really tell the author did so much research and put so much thought into the writing.
The narrators did an amazing job. I could listen to Shane East all day. His voice is so swoony!

I listened to the audiobook while I was cleaning. It’s the perfect kind of book to listen to when you need some background noise. It was a super cute story but probably one I wouldn’t have finished without the audio. The ending was a bit silly and out there but still a sweet book.

The song, You’ll Be in my Heart by Phil Collins was stuck in my head while listening to this book.

Shane East and Lucy Rivers did a great job with their narrations. Eden and Thorn are excellent characters, but overall the story was missing something.

This was super cute but probably wouldn’t have finished if I wasn’t listening to the audiobook

Sexy Tarzan retelling...does more need to be said? I kind of expected more steam so was definitely surprised when the story had a lot of depth.
adventurous emotional hopeful inspiring mysterious sad medium-paced

A Tarzan retelling with a modern take filled with significant symbolism, romance, hints of danger, and a new world to discover? I mean, come on, of course I got this book immediately. Emma Castle wrote this in a way that went beyond what I was expecting. With Eden and Thorne at the helm of this story, it wasn’t just romance, but also heartfelt and captivating me with this new take on a beloved tale of Tarzan.

Right away from the prologue and foreword, I was fascinated and impressed by the level of dedication and research that Emma Castle put into this story. Emma could have easily just put together a steamy, smutty book about a woman meeting a Tarzan like man in the jungle, but nope, Emma gave this story the kindness and service it deserved it telling an amazing story.

Eden’s first meeting with Thorne was death defying since it almost ended with her losing her life at the hands of some men who she stumbled upon while on a group tour in the jungle of Uganda. As the lone survivor and Thorne coming to her rescue, Eden found herself conflicted and scared at having witnessed such a horrific act committed by horrible men, but also being saved by the stranger who she didn’t know. Cut to a flashback, it’s revealed how Thorne (the man who saved Eden) came to the jungle, what happened with his parents, and how he found himself being raised by a gorilla. I found it interesting yet also heartbreaking what happened to Thorne’s parents, but thankful he found himself a new family that helped raise him, and teach him to live in the ways of the jungle, being part of the gorilla pack. Through the flashbacks, it highlighted the changes Thorne went through over the years, and how he sometimes had flashes of his life yet wasn’t sure if it was real or not.

The connection between Eden and Thorne was instantaneous. I wouldn’t say it was insta love, but more of a undeniable, raw, primal feeling that Thorne and Eden felt being around one another. For Thorne, not only was he learning more about his own life, the past memories that were hidden in the back of his mind of his parents, but also learning about new feelings when it came to Eden. Eden couldn’t believe that she was saved by this gorgeous, jungle lord who was strong and a fierce warrior, and yet while Thorne was mighty, he had a bit of innocence to him that intrigued Eden (and frankly myself as well!). Thorne was use to living in the jungle, living amongst his gorilla family, and communicating with the animals within the jungle. When Thorne saved Eden it changed his life in a way that he had only dreamed of for so many years, a chance at having his very own mate. No I don’t mean destined mates like in Fae stories, but just a mate in the sense that animals have their own mate. Thorne grew up with the knowledge of one day finding a mate, and ironically since being raised by gorillas usually based his knowledge of their ways in order to show Eden his interest and intentions to her. I found Thorne to be equally endearing and protective to Eden, and very much gave me “soft boy vibes”. Not to mention, since Thorne grew up in the jungle, he was…inexperienced in all the ways of “when a man and a woman like each other…” essentially Thorne was learning everything since he didn’t know how things worked. Eden couldn’t help but feel captivated and liking about sincere and kind Thorne was to her. The chemistry between Eden and Thorne was off the charts, from their first kiss to them progressively getting more and more intimate, it was passionate, raw, and filled with so much desire I was swooning the whole time!

I say this without a doubt that from the first few hundred pages, I was already thinking this book was five stars! I was hooked! I kept telling myself, “ok maybe I’ll take a break after this page,”… but NOPE! I just kept turning page after page wanting to see what would unfold next in Eden and Thorne’s story. I loved the details of how the jungle was, the way Thorne used his senses to navigate the jungle, and the hidden symbolism hinted at throughout the story proved significant just as Emma had mentioned in the foreword. I literally cannot express enough how amazing this story was! While I was a huge fan of the romance between Thorne and Eden, I was also fascinated by the storyline and seeing how Thorne ended up amongst the gorillas, how his life has drastically changed many years ago after losing his parents. Everything was connected in a way that as a whole proved to create such a strong, and meaningful story that I greatly appreciated and respected.

Thorne went through so many changes throughout the story, but with Eden at his side, he felt invincible. I absolutely cannot get over how amazing Thorne and Eden were both as individual characters and as a couple. I know I already talked about their connection earlier, but I just had to stress again how much I was enthralled by it all. Just reading, I felt the absolute magnetic pull that Eden and Thorne felt with each other. There were also some equally cute and lighthearted moments that Eden and Thorne had together when they would play or tease each other. Seeing Thorne in a playful mood was so endearing especially since all that he had endured, it didn’t change his sweet disposition. If anything with Eden, Thorne not only found his mate, but felt the deepest bond, emotional, passionate filled love overcome him with her. (Sigh) if you can’t tell I’m majorly obsessed with this book. Also can we just take a moment to appreciate how protective Thorne got over Eden as well as for as much as a newbie he was when it came to sex, he was a quick learner and my goodness could not get enough of Eden! PHEW! IT WAS SO SEXY!

I am simply floored by how amazing and beautiful this story was. I literally cannot shut up about this book, as you can see by my lengthy review! The attention to detail, the symbolism imbued within the story was significant, and powerful. Eden and Thorne formed a unique and loving bond that honestly blew me away, but also made me want Thorne for myself. With Thorne’s endearing innocence in learning the new ways he wasn’t familiar with, to Eden discovering a new world within the jungle, and even the magic that was all around the jungle?! Yeah this was pretty amazing! The amount of care and attention that Emma Castle put in this story was evident while reading, and I’m so touched and filled with lots of emotions having finished this book. This is one of those books that just book you right away. Definitely a book I will gladly read as many times possible. The ending and epilogue were so heartwarming and brought a few tears of joy to me. Please do yourself a favor and read this book!
