I was expecting something better, so maybe its my fault for expecting something that this couldn't be. The instalove really did bother me here, and it didn't use to. But, I have been reading a whole lot of hate-to-love/enemies-to-lovers/slow-burn romance books in the last couple of months and maybe thats why this was so jarring. The added fantastical elements did help provide a fairytale-vibe to the story that made that easier to take. And Eden is from Arkansas! The first time a character has been from the same state as me! And I am going to change my rating from a 1 to a 3 star, because it really is more my fault I didn't enjoy this book. I knew going into it there would likely be instalove and it is under 300 pages, so I should have known going in that this wouldn't be the story for me right now

This was a great retelling of the tale of Tarzan. This was the first book I read by Emma Castle and I am a fan of her work now! I loved this story, there was magic, love, and an exotic setting.

When I heard about this book I thought in might be an interesting read. I was so wrong - it went far beyond amazing. This modern day retelling of the Tarzan story was fantastic. The characters of Thorne and Edan drew this reader into the story. This Tarzan went so far beyond the image we have from the movies and TV. Lost in the jungle at the age of 3 he has grown up, raised by gorillas, and yet he still retained some memories from his childhood.
Eden was on a gorilla siting tour when the group was attacked by poachers (or were they). The entire group was killed but Thorne was able to get there before the last person in the group was shot. The animal magnetism between Eden and Thorne is magnetic - it is as if they were soulmates looking for their other half.
Of course, no Tarzan story would be complete without some danger. But in this case, the danger is not from the jungle but from civilization and a greedy man who would use Thorne to find a treasure hidden in the jungle.
When this book finally ends it is with a satisfying Happily Ever After.

What a wonderful story!
It's a book full of mystery and adventure, as well as love and romance, with a touch of magic. Definitely worth reading!

A nature conservation pamphlet disguised as a romance book. Sweet American girl is saved by a jungle man raised by gorillas.
I loved this retelling of the Tarzan story. The ending felt a bit rushed as the climax and resolution all took place in the final three chapters of the book; however, it still left me wanting more.
