I absolutely loved this one book. I thought it was portrayed so well. It has the aspects of Tarzan and Jane but was a little different. I couldn’t put this book down and would most definitely read it again.

3.5⭐️

As much as I enjoyed this Tarzan retelling, I still can’t give this a much higher rating like how I wanted to.

First things first, the writing is okay. I did enjoy the author’s writing, although, there’s often times the writing turned out to be cringey and awkward especially during the love scene dialogues.

Th e characters are interesting, however, I wasn’t that convinced in Thorne’s character as a Tarzan. I did liked Eden though but not on the highest level, I also think her character is somewhat a little bit dry.

I also would like to mention that it also kind of felt anticlimactic for me, especially the part of Thorne and Cameron’s meeting. I would love it if it would have been dramatic because I think it would be much more ideal?

Overall, I think this book is okay. I enjoyed it and would love to read more of this author’s books and a retelling like this.

I listened to the audio of this and have to say I really liked the narrators, I think they saved the story for me!

Initially I was loving this retelling but I found it a little insta-love and cheesy as the plot went on. That being said I have never read a Tarzan retelling before and I think it’s a great idea for a story.

Thoughts:
This was a book for a buddy read and I honestly would never have picked it up on my own but I’m so glad I decided to read it with everyone because it grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Is this book no but it seems more realistic than many other Tarzan retellings. My favorite about this book was Thorne’s will to overcome all odds that seemed to be against him and his undying love for Eden.
