I was super excited when approached by the author to read and review this beautiful book .
I haven’t seen a Tarzan retelling before , and once I saw this cover and read the synopsis, I was ready !
I loved the atmosphere and setting of the jungle .
We begin the book with a young Thorne ( Tarzan ) and his mother and father going on an adventure. It quickly escalated and left them trapped in the jungle .
Several horrific events take place and I enjoyed the detail and felt it set a nice speed for the rest of the book .
Fast forward years later , Thorne is living in the jungle amongst the animals and raised by gorillas . The animal interaction was so magical and personified that it spoke volumes of Thornes character and his attachment to them and the jungle itself . I loved the description of him and his actions and ways of life inside the jungle . The Ancient Caves and mysteries are very interesting and make Thorne all the more “ Jungle man” ( if you know you know

I enjoyed the book from page 1 but overall I felt like it needed more OR maybe I needed more.
I liked the book and am looking forward to her Labyrinth retelling!

I was super excited to read this book, the blurb and the idea of a Tarzan retelling sounded good. I liked the story and the characters. This was a fun read with some sad moments, this book is for you if you don't take the books you read too seriously.
I just can't love books that do the thing where the MCs fall in love in a week or two. Eden and Thorne knew each other for a week before they said 'I love you'. They were cute and all but I simply can't get behind that. I loved the way Thorne took care of Eden, he was definitely my favorite character.
If you're going into this story thinking it's going to be realistic- oh boy you are wrong, get those thoughts out of your head and you might actually like this book.
It's like the author didn't know how to defeat the villain of the story and just added some magic to the story. It was somewhat realistic up until the last chapters. The author described Africa as this magical place, but I didn't think I had to take that literary.

This was a really sweet, low angst romance. Thorn was such a strong, dependable, and loving man. This was a quick and easy read. I really enjoyed the audiobook, especially Shane East.
adventurous
mysterious
medium-paced
I thought this book was a good quick read. I liked that it was a retelling with a spin on it.
Sagged a little for me in the middle but I really loved the ending. I definitely teared up. The sex scenes were a tad bit cringy at first since he was still learning but that's expected I guess. They definitely got better over time. I wasn't totally convinced of their love at first because it felt instalovey but I was convinced by the end especially after everything that happened.
Love In The Wild by Emma Castle is a modern Tarzan retelling that I listened to on audio narrated by Shane East and Lucy Rivers.
This is the first book of Emma's that I have read and it definitely won't be my last. I liked the relationship that bloomed between Eden and Torne. They had an instant connection from the moment Thorne had saved Eden. I really enjoyed that the story gave multiple points of view throughout the book. It really helped bring the story to life.
Shane and Lucy did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I can't wait to listen to more of their work in the future.
