second chance romance is one my fav tropes, but this one did not hit as much as I was expecting. I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

This was the equivalent of a Hallmark movie featuring life in a small town and a second chance romance, but there were some glaring areas in which the story could have been better. It lacked detail about the main characters’ past and there wasn’t really even a plot line about the present. It just focused a lot on the turmoil that Emma and Caden felt at seeing each other again, and it was somewhat circular in that regard. The story needed something to really bring it together. It was fine, but could have been so much more!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Enjoyed this book but would have liked to see more of their present connection. Emma’s character was fairly well developed but felt like we were missing a lot about Caden. I love a HEA but it just felt a little forced, I think.

This book is another reason with a long list of reasons of why CW Farnsworth is one of my all time favourite romance authors.

Second Chances. Small Town Romance.

Two of my favourite tropes when done well, which this book does.

Two people people forced apart as teenagers, when one returns to settle some business, they are forced to face the giant elephant in the room of why they left and if they can put their feelings to bed or work towards a future they thought lost.

Angst, tension, a sprinkling of spice, love and friendship. What's not to love?

This second chance romance worked for me. There were no flashbacks. The fire between Emma and Caden is there. At first, it's in unresolved feelings and some anger, but it's easy to see their chemistry and how neither of them has truly moved on. I enjoyed their story/romance.

I liked this but the reason she left was a bit underwhelming. It was a reason I could understand but it didn’t make that much sense honestly. I was also a bit confused about their family dynamics and didn’t like the girlfriend thing.

3 stars!!
