Such a cute quick read
Ugh so I did like this book... but something was missing. I kinda understand why Emma did what she did all those years ago, but she was a little drama for it also and I feel like this book is one massive "what could've been if there was emotional intelligence involved in some decision making" type of deal

Caden and Emma. So this slow burn had me hooked. Emma leaves town on a whim after an accident without a trace. Fast forward 9 years Emma has to come back to the place she left. Dreading every second. She gets into town, due to her uncles passing, and gets pulled over…by her ex boyfriend whom she literally left and never spoke to again. I was dying to know what happened.
Emma moved to Maine to be with her aunt and uncle. She was in high school and a soccer star. She is dating Caden and life seems great. After a turn of events, Emma literally leaves in the middle of the night, leaving her old life behind. She doesn’t speak to anyone from her city again, until 9 years later. Emma went to college for soccer and is playing professionally, when she needs to return to handle business after her uncle passes away.
Caden, is bitter and as salty as the ocean. His ex girlfriend left him without a goodbye. Now he’s the towns cop. And dating the local veterinarian for 3 years. His life is flipped upside down when Emma rolls back into town.
I will say I loved this book, however, as most have mentioned, in a sex scene, Emmas partner (no spoilers) says something along the lines of her boobs are not as perky as they once were. It didn’t settle well with me. Other than that this book was so cute. And I love a great second chance romance.
