Notes:
- I discovered Rachel Wilkerson Miller through an episode of The Nod. She is very real and brutal. Coming from a relatable dark place, she started to incorporate little acts of self-care into her days at home watching TV and it changed her life around.
- Now she is the queen of organising and, through this book, she cracks the code and presents bullet/dot planning in a much easier format.
- She shares ideas on layouts, sections, and even gives advice on the best pens and highlighters to the stationery freaks among us. Zebra Mildliners and correcting tape (no time for fluid) are the MVPs.
- I just started my own bullet journal for the second half of the year following Rachel's ideas. Tracking days, weeks, months, years, mood, habits, budgeting, business trips and meals to kind of get ahold of myself and achieve my goals in school, career and well-being.
- Will tell you more and how effective it is later in the year, probably. These are just notes for now.

I love all forms of organization and have kept To-Do lists since I was a kid. So I already knew about some of the concepts of bullet journaling but checked out this book for a fresh approach.

All in all, I enjoyed the info provided here:
The author is clearly enthusiastic about the subject and offers some helpful advice. She convinced me that planning out your day is actually a sort of diary and that therefore you can easily expand your planning journal into a diary that contains more personal notes.
Also had fun reading the excerpts from various real diaries; especially having quotes from very old diaries offered an interesting perspective.

The one downside was that I bought this book for Kindle. Unfortunately, the many graphics provided by the author come out really badly on a Kindle Reader. (No colour, just too pale shades of grey. Worse than this is, however, that you cannot zoom into the pictures so it's really hard to read the info in the graphics.) I solved that problem by opening the book on the Kindle app of my smartphone: It was much more readable there.

I would have found it nice to have an easy overview of all the spreads at the end of the book.

Anyway, after reading "How to Bullet Plan" I'm considering switching my online bullet journal to an actual paper notebook. (If I can overcome my inner perfectionist that's never quite happy with my handwriting. :-))

I'm not new to bullet journalling, but it's easy to get overwhelmed with all the gorgeous, artistic spreads on various platforms, or to disappear into a TV Tropes-level rabbit hole of reading more and more ideas of Terribly Useful Things To Include. I'm coming back to the system after a bit of a break, and decided to treat myself to this very pretty book, expecting to kick myself a little, but I've been pleasantly surprised. Yes, it's very, as my kid says, Aesthetic, but there's also a ton of practical suggestions, advice on making the system work for *you*, and some interesting sections on the history of diary-keeping. Well worth a look, and a good gift for a friend who wants to give bullet journalling a try, but finds it a bit intimidating!

Well written, informative and funny

After reading a very poor book on bullet journaling before this one I was dubious. Now, my bujo is all set up, I know how I plan to use it and have lots of ideas inspired by this book.

Great writing style with plenty of humour and everything you need to know about how to get started. Well illustrated with beautiful photos too.

This was a good intro to bullet journal method (or dot journalling or bullet planning) although there is not much here that I hadn't already found in the numerous free resources online, including Rachel Wilkerson Miller's own work. I really enjoy Rachel's writing and this book is nicely put together.

This book is engaging, useful and attractive, just the thing someone who has (very) vague plans of launching a bullet journal empire needs. Except, it turns out bullet journals are mostly blank, so you can write lots of lists and calendar and diary arrangements with fancy pens. I like the idea, but I don't think I'll ever become someone who can sit down and draw up their own calendar layouts. That stuff is teeeeedious. Lists, yes, forever; the actual lines and numbers defining your calendar, no.

My copy: bought new, from Milligram (purveyor of actual bullet and other journals)

I wasn't sure at first whether it was worth getting this book or not when one can easily search through pinterest and instagram for ideas on bullet journaling. But I'm glad that I did now. It is a light read, but also very informative.
Most of the book contains different ideas and layouts to try in your bullet journal. I found this useful especially for those that are just starting out or don't know what to put in their journal. The information on different pens and whatnot's was also very handy.
