This book is well written, but it is pure fantasy and propaganda. Also, I don’t care how it ended, Paul is still trash. I can’t properly rate this though because it has a lot of weirdo and problematic themes to be a “Christian” novel. It reminds me more of Dark Romance…

THIS BOOK IS SO AWESOME!!!! Not only does it exemplify forgiveness, but this book is the true depiction of Christ's love and grace toward us. No matter how many times we run away from God, He still clings to us and yearns after us with a longing heart. And when it feels like he's out of our reach, he is right next to us, every step of the way. I have read this book 3x and will read it again and again and again.
I am putting my thoughts here so maybe they will help some other person. I had to mark it as read to be able to write the thoughts out but I will not be finishing this book. I did read to page 150, so I truly did give it a chance.
It is warping the message of the Book of Hosea, which the author claims to be retelling. Hosea is about Israel’s idolatry and how that is like an unfaithful wife. I can only assume its popularity is because it gets steamy but it is a Christian book so somehow that makes okay. However if the message of the Bible gets lost in steamy lead up then it needs to bee questioned as a book that Christians should read.
It is not a book that sexual crime survivor should not read. Not only could it be triggering, but it just plain will make you mad. It is obvious the author did not consult persons who had this type of trauma. I do not recommend this book at all.

This review is unlike other reviews that I have posted in the past mainly because it will take the form of a letter, specifically a letter to the author. Okay here goes nothing.
Dear Francine,
I don't know where to begin in telling you all of my thoughts and feelings on your book. I will admit however that I have yelled at you, punched you in the face, and cried over and over "Why?!?!". This was such a powerful book about what it means to be in a relationship with someone and accept them for their faults and truly forgive other people, even when we feel like we don't deserve it. I will admit to shedding a few man tears throughout this book, especially at the end when the prophecy is fulfilled. Man that was so good. There were definitely some parts that were difficult to read but I pushed through those and got to the good stuff and there was a lot of that. This book will definitely stick with me.

SO GOOD. Seriously. I'm still in awe of how moving this book is.
