I. Can’t. Stop. Sobbing. My absolute favorite book ever for so many reasons I won’t even attempt to explain.
I absolutely loved this book! God is truly amazing & this story helps shows it. One of my ultimate favorite love stories. Will never not recommend this book.
6 Forgiving Stars!!
Wow! Wow!Wow! This was such an amazing book! Talk about a love story for the ages.
This was an epic tale of a man of God, Michael who showed Angel the true meaning of love. My heart absolutely broke for Angel. She was sold into prostitution as a child and obviously had issues with insecurity and doubting her self-worth. Her actions were so frustrating but you can't even blame her for all she had to endure throughout her life and she did not think that she was deserving of Michael's love.
No matter what Angel did (and she did A LOT OF BAD THINGS), Michael was always there for her, always forgiving her, always loving her. This did not make him weak and seem like a pushover. Oh no! Rather you see the strength of this man. The strength it took to love this woman who fought him so much and who betrayed him in so many ways. He had faith in God that this was His will to love this woman Angel whom God had chosen for him.
The writing in this book is so beautiful. This was a literary work of art. The characters in this book are so complex and so well thought out. If you are a lover of romance books, regardless of your faith , this is a MUST READ!! You will have such a special experience reading this book. Highly, highly recommended!!

First time re-reading this one. I love this book. It's my favorite Christian romance novel and just one of my favorite novels in general. It's not for everyone, and it has some really dark parts to it. It doesn't shy away from describing the realities of sex trafficking. But all that darkness just makes the story all that more powerful, in my opinion. My favorite scene is the Rock of Ages scene. Followed closely by Michael washing Angel's feet.
I personally don't like the ending (happy ending = barren woman producing children) because not everyone gets that gift. I would've preferred they show the fact that no matter what has happened to you or what you may or may not be capable of doing, you are no less lovely or worthy or capable of joy. A happy ending sometimes means being content with what God has given you, even when He has said no to a deep desire of your heart. That being said, I know this is based on Hosea, so obviously, the ending came from there. I just think this kind of thing is way too common in today's fiction, so my frustration probably stems more from that.

I loved this book.
It has been awhile since I read a 5 star book!
Also my first book in awhile, I usually read audiobooks. It was a nice change. I also bought the audiobook and will read that soon!
This book is a mix of emotions, total rollercoaster of sad, happy, angry etc.
Would recommend to everyone!
Watched the movie as well. Good, but does not come anywhere close to the book!

Such a great book! Heartbreaking but also uplifting. I saw a bit of myself at different times in my life in several of these characters. Thankful I serve a God who is loving and forgiving!

Love this book. It is an incredible picture of how the Father continually pursues his beloved.
Admittedly Christian romance is not my genre, but this book was just painful. First of all, you cannot have a romance novel that starts off with raping a child. Secondly, the main character does not need to be redeemed. She was raped and basically enslaved. She was a victim and is a survivor. Third, Michael manipulates her into marrying him against her will when her only other option is to probably be killed. He keeps changing her name instead of respecting what she is asking to be called. Fourth, Paul raped her.
This book is just awful.
