Does this objectively deserve four stars? Probably not. However, I had a great time reading this and thought there some really fun tropes involved. It is a good length for a medium stakes paranormal romance and I liked the characters. Honestly, this also felt quite nostalgic to me - which made it extra fun.

*3.5 I don’t know what happened with this book. I was really enjoying it and then just lost interest. The writing itself is really good, it’s just the plot kind of fell flat half way through. All of this angst and conflict that was built for a good portion of the book just magically disappears and no longer matters after just one chapter, and this wouldn’t be a problem if there weren’t one hundred pages left. For the rest of the book, I just felt myself not caring. I think if the main conflict continued longer and didn’t end so abruptly, I would have felt differently.

Wow, S. Young pulled me right into the world of paranormal in this paranormal romance story. I could not put this book done. Conall is a strong, alpha, with a caring side for those he loves. As well as he will have you swooning over him. Thea is a strong, independent woman who is trying to survive and learn about who she is. Theo and Conall meet and try to deny the instant attraction, but have set plans in place. The banter and moments of chemistry are intense and have you wanting them to give in. Theo and Conall take you on a crazy ride filled with adventure, a bit of mystery that you will want answers to, and heartfelt moments that will make you want to shake some sense into these characters. This was a fantastic read and will leave you wanting more of these characters! Definitely read this book!
I was craving some good old fashioned paranormal romance and hot dog did this deliver on those early 00s vibes. I kept texting my friend that it felt like I was holding up this snarling full grown woman and loudly going "she seems like she's stinky and I love her". Was it ground breaking? Nah. Did I guess most of the story beats? Yea. Did I have a delightful time and plan on continuing the series as soon as I can get through my other library loans? You better bet your butt yes.
