I was not expecting to read this book in a few hours, nor was I expecting it to be so good. But it is. So, so freaking good. And it's sweet, memorable, and funny. Just a really amazing romance that will both make your heart tremble and burst of happiness.

4 stars. I would love to give this book 5 but I just can't. Why? Because I love Caymen and Xander (Alex? how do I pronounce this?) but I just needed more romance. I needed to feel the love more than just in the last few chapters. Also I feel like Kasie West just left us hanging like Wtf her mom gets ulcers in her stomach and is in the hospital and the book just ends. Like yeah I guess that was a pretty good stopping point. WHO IS CAYMENS DAD AND WHY CANT WE MEET HIM I REALLY WANT TO KNOW!!!!!! WHY DID HE HAVE TO LEAVE HER?? DID HE EVEN CARE A LITTLE TO KNOW HER??? DID THE DOLL STORE GET SAVED?? Okay enough caps.... I really liked this book and feel like Kasie could have expanded more on the plot and full story instead of just bits and pieces.. I'm going to try and read The fill in boyfriend just to see if it's any better.

Super cute :)

I want my own Xander, and not because he is rich!

Actual Rating: 3.5/5

This book was so sweet, it wasn't overly complicated and sometimes it was pretty cliche, but overall a nice light read, with likeable main characters. I thought we needed some more closure in the end, but overall I dont have any major criticism.

I'm a sucker. Slightly imperfect heroine with a sarcastic sense of humor meets flawless rich boy. Both are 17 but act like they're 30. Still, it's book candy and I loved it.

Me, reading a contemporary YA wrong-side-of-the-tracks romance? Not my usual style. I read this book for one reason – the main character works in her mom’s porcelain doll store. And even though Caymen calls the dolls soul-sucking and her best friend calls the store the little shop of horrors, I still enjoyed all the parts about the dolls.

For the most part, the author did a good job with the story. I thought the do-I-like-him, does-he-like-me inner struggle was well done. However, I thought the major plot twist at the end was trickery, and Xander was too close to perfect to be real. I also really disliked the girl’s name – Caymen. What does it mean, where does it come from, and why do you give your heroine a name with “men” in it?

My biggest complaint, however, is that there is no way someone stays in business for 17 years running a porcelain-only doll store.

I can imagine recommending this to young adult readers looking for an HEA romance. Four stars for being the kind of book it’s trying to be.

Yet another adorable book from Kasie West!

I really liked the characters in this one. Caymen's sarcasm and sense of humor matched my own so of course I loved her. Xander seemed funny and awkward. I liked their relationship together and how they both grew throughout the book. Caymen's relationship with her family was interesting to read about, as was Xander's relationship with his dad.

Sure, this book is cheesy, predictable, and objectively imperfect, but I don't care! It was the perfect Kasie West book: overall light, funny, and a fast read. There are some heavier subjects to help ground it and make it feel more realistic but it's just a fun read!

I went in with low expectations, only wanting an easy read to get me out of my slump and I wasn’t surprised by my genuine disinterest in the plot. It was a good read, it just wasn’t for me. Maybe it’s just because I like to be surprised and this book did not surprise me at all, I saw everything coming from miles away, but if that’s your thing, go for it.
