Thank you to @Cass for another awesome buddy read!
This series is so annoying sometimes and here are my thoughts throughout the book:
At the beginning of the book, I was busy showing my love for Mother Goose and it was so sadAlso throughout the series Chris Colfer was showing major improvement in his writing. The beginning was also not as interesting as the rest of the book.
I also felt really disconnected from the characters in this book. Although I really enjoyed the concept of this book and I love the tin-man too, he's probably my favorite character throughout the book. I love Bree to even though she has the personality of a rock, and in total I think this is one of the worst books in the seires because I felt non-engaged the whole time.
Overall, this seires is gonna be the death of me I promise. Also like where is the dievrsity where is he representation like I get its based off fairytales but comeon.

Spoiler
that she isn't there anymoreSpoiler
I wish the series would stop info-dumping though because are fricking book 4 and we are still at the stage where Chris Colfer is adding new info.I also felt really disconnected from the characters in this book. Spoiler
at the end it says that Emmerich is kidnapped and ahh it was so scary in that moment.Spoiler

My least favorite thus far. I really loved the world that was built and expanding it so wildly broke the magic. Also I did not like that there was no conclusion. I think I needed to know sooner that the end of the book would not have any plot resolution. Still will continue.
Just when I thought they had fairytales covered, they move to great pieces of children's literature. It was nice to see what the twins could do by themselves without the guidance of the Fairy Godmother. Colfer leads his characters even further on the path of self-discovery. Red really comes into her own, and there's a side to her that I hope will be explored further in the next book: the caring side that has forced her to become a hero in order to save Froggy, Alex can't get her emotions under control, still reeling from the discovered identity of the Masked Man, Connor learns to have more self-confidence and starts to have faith in himself and Bree goes on another expedition, this one to learn more about her genealogy.
I just wish we could have spent more time with Emmerich (who only makes a cameo appearance in the book) and the characters from the new stories. It would have answered some of my questions, like 'What does Dorothy do without the Tin Woodman by her side?' and 'if the crew followed the same path as Dorothy down the Yellow Brick Road, why did they not meet the Cowardly Lion?' Connor's dating advice to Robin Hood was hilarious. I can't wait to see what Colfer has up his sleeves for the next book, especially for Connor.

This book seemed like a transition. There was no “big moment” and a lot of setup for the next book. Still good though and I enjoyed the new character additions.
AHHHH! Cliffhanger!
Thank goodness the fifth book came out this week. Phew. (Now I have to wait for my library copies to come in and get dispensed out to all of us who put a hold on it.)
