Chris Colfer, you need to stop putting us on cliff hangers.
My son absolutely loves these books. We read them out loud and each chapter, something dramatic happens, so it keeps him wanting more. He would give this series 5 stars everytime.
Me reading it out loud to him, I would give it 3. The story is good, but reading it drives me crazy, to the point of dread at the thought of starting the next, encouraging new books to explore while hoping they would catch his attention away from these. The author has so many characters in every scene and he feels the need to have every one of them say something everytime, even if its just to say ok. So every conversation feels like this....
"Kidnapped?" Curley said in shock.
"Not Tinker Bell!" Tootles said, and burst into tears.
"He"ll pay for this!" Nibs said with a vengeful scream.
"But who kidnapped her?" Slightly asked.
"Yeah, who?" the Lost twins asked.
Literally almost every paragraph is like this. But, it is a good story and creative and my son likes it. So really, the story is for him. That is why I went with the 4 stars. And thankfully the stories really have come a long way with the writing compared to the first.

"Beyond the Kingdoms" by Chris Colfer is an emotionally charged and thrilling addition to the "Land of Stories" series. As a reader, I was immediately drawn into the magical world Colfer has created and invested in the lives of the beloved characters I had come to know and love in the previous books.
From the very first page, I felt my heart racing as the stakes were raised higher than ever before. Colfer masterfully weaves together multiple plot lines, each one more heart-wrenching and suspenseful than the last. The action never lets up, and I found myself on the edge of my seat, eagerly turning each page to see what would happen next.
The emotions in this book run deep, and Colfer's writing is both poignant and powerful. I found myself laughing and crying in equal measure, as the characters faced impossible choices and grappled with their own inner demons. The bonds of friendship and family are tested like never before, and the characters are forced to confront their deepest fears and insecurities.
One of the things I loved most about "Beyond the Kingdoms" is how it explores complex themes like loss, grief, and the meaning of true heroism. Colfer doesn't shy away from the darker aspects of the story, but he also infuses it with hope and redemption, reminding us that even in the darkest of times, there is always a glimmer of light.
Overall, "Beyond the Kingdoms" is a captivating and emotionally resonant book that will leave you breathless and begging for more. If you're a fan of the "Land of Stories" series, you won't want to miss this epic installment. Chris Colfer has truly outdone himself, and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next.

A super cute instalment of Chris Colfer’s The Land of Stories. It was my favourite volume since the first. I loved how it went back to an adventure type story, once more jumping into different worlds and making new discoveries. Colfer’s writing is still… not great, there are far better children/middle grade authors then him but it’s still a cute story and I am once more, keen to continue, rather than just hoping the next volume will be better.
I have no interest in reading this book anymore.

I absolutely loved this book. I think that it is a great installment in this series because it brings to life the other tales that we all grew up with. I'm excited to see what's going to happen next!
