Audio narrator elevates this.  Did not like the first person narrator.

re: the romance

First time I've read a love triangle, got a throuple, and been disappointed in it.  Narrator spent too long angsting about the choice and the relationship between two sides of the triangle was not developed enough.

re: racism

while he comes back/isn't really dead, the graphic description of the only character of colour's corpse felt gratuitious even in the context of a pretty gruesome gothic story

The book was good!
Just wish we would have seen more of Bram and Henri interacting..
I loved Bram and hated Henri, I would have loved more of Bram altogether 
The plot was good but towards the end it felt very rushed a lot of reveals happened at once.
Overall it’s good and great for a debut novel..!
