I had so much expectations for this one, being than the second book in this series was so much better.
But anyway Ben thinks Lola it's just an entitled rich kid and keeps being an asshole while Lola is just trying to make it on her own.

Definitely not my fave, but I did it. I’m wavering between a solid 3 stars and 3.5.

Reading this book really showed me that I am NOT the right audience for “enemies to lovers.” I was so frustrated, aggravated, and turned off/confused for a lot of this. The things that Ben would say that, in any other book, probably would’ve made me have butterflies and slap my hand over my mouth had me…cringing. I don’t think this trope is meant for me, and sadly—maybe because of this trope?—I didn’t really vibe with either of the main characters in this story.

There were some moments where, unfortunately, the relationship/conversations/interactions between Lola and Ben felt very…one sided, and a little…icky for me. But once I got in deeper to the book and the story and Lola opened herself up to him, it felt better — plus I’m a freaking sucker for “daddy” talk in the bedroom. 3 stars, wouldn’t be the first Morgan Elizabeth book I recommend, Ben is my least fave Morgan Elizabeth man, and tbh from this series I loved Vic and Gabi most <3 <3 Taking a little breather before diving into Morgan’s other series, Springbrook Hills.

This was a fun listen, but the spicy bits did not entice me. There was talk of pounding where I do not want pounding, personally. And the male character was too protective and wanted to be called Daddy, another personal ick. I loved the way the author built up suspense - I usually only listen to audiobooks in my car, but I couldn't help but listen at home, too. Honestly, my star rating would go up if the spicy bits didn't engage my ick - but the non-spicy bits were engaging and suspenseful.

Book is about Lola and Ben. Lola is a baker that opens her own bakery and Ben owns the tattoo shop next to her store. They meet each other and fall in love from there. There is a little mafia gang twist to it that makes the book very interesting
