One of his best!!! And considering how many bestsellers he has, that's saying something!!!

This book started off slow for me so I put it aside for a month or so. When I picked it back up, I was able to really get into it. The ending was a bit blah for me though. I need more. LOL.

I enjoyed it! I need a Blackbird crew of my own!

So this book did not have a lot of plot to it, I was expecting this action packed drama filled book and it just wasn’t that. Even the drama that happened was pretty tamed. It was still entertaining and I found myself chuckling out loud and being like “and I oop” to some of the things and I did feel like I was in on a story about home girls enjoying each other’s company while also trying to find love. So for people who like the show Harlem or Insecure, it kinda has those vibes. Also some of the smut was juicer than others. When we finally saw Ericka and Mr. Jones together, i feel like it was brushed over, and that was one of the more juicier storylines. Also I felt like the author had his favorite characters and therefore those characters had a more fleshed out background and story arch. For example, we had HELLA chapters on Indigio. At some point, I was like “she should just have her own book”. It wasn’t terrible but it definitely wasn’t what I was expecting. Also I loved the writing at times, it was lyrical and beautiful but then there were choppy awkward chapters that felt like someone else had written them. It often took me out the story and made me lose focus and I had to reread sentences over and over. Overall it was an OKAY story but not great. Hopefully he has some work that I’ll like better.

I have read many EJD books before but this was by far the slowest read for me. It was inexplicably slow and infested with filler that made it an extremely long read that ultimately lead to anticlimactic endings for all the women. I also found Indigo particularly annoying and it was a rough ride to complete for me.

Listened to the audio book. It started off slow and almost wanted to quit, but then I felt myself getting into the characters storylines. Turned out pretty good in the end.

Phenomenal. Took my breath away.

Dickey's writing style took a while for me to get use to, but ultimately he wowed me with his plot twists and profound portrayal of the complexities and beauty of women and their relationships. This is a book that I definitely am glad I purchased and will definitely re-read.

loved every character, all different yet in some ways the same. This book made me laugh a lot which is a plus for me.

i had to quit this before i plucked out my eyes. this is so dreadful it's imaginable. ok, so it's clear that i'm not the target audience, but i thought Dickey's talent would shine through. alas.
