One of my favorite tropes, friends to lovers. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters. They were effortless with each other. They knew each other and that is why it worked so well for them. They truly wanted what was best for the other person. So of course she would become his girlfriend to save his job.
Oliver truly in his heart of hearts didn’t want to rock the boat and give Summer any reason to not be his friend. Her friendship means more to him than anything else. It was sweet how he came to see just how much he loves her, as in more than friends. Summer is the kind of woman who knows who she is but is still holding back, I like that she could and does be herself with Oliver. It was endearing.
I love that there wasn’t angst, there wasn’t drama. This is exactly why I love romance. The falling in love with the person who gets you 100% it is amazing.
The narration: Do I even have to say it, fantastic. Shane is quickly becoming a favorite of mine which kind of threw me for a loop too. Andi is Andi and she is great.

Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend is the first book in The Guys Who Got Away Series. This is a friends to lovers trope.
I love the start of this new series & feel good romances! This is Oliver and Summer’s story. They grew up together and have been friends since Summer’s mother used to drive them both to school together.
Oliver and Summer end up starting a fake engagement because of a contest letter that Summer wrote. They just don’t realize they love each other until they get caught in their lie. Of course all their friends and family know what they don’t know!
I love their story! Now I can’t wait for the next feel good book!

Well hell, Lauren Blakely has done it again!
This was one of the best fake fiance books I’ve read in ages. It guaratees a HEA which we all really want in the end, don’t we?
Summer and Oliver are soooooo good together. Their story was lovely. A sweet romance so to speak. I loved these two. I especially loved how they got together. Argh! Social Media is such a bummer – or is it?
Well written, loads of friendly banter from beginning to the end. The dialogue is great. It’s witty, fun and smart. Loved it!
Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend is going on 2020’s favourites list for me

I loved Oliver and Summer's funny, sweet & steamy, friends to lovers romance! They have been best friends since they were young adults, always having each other's back. Summer wants to open her own business to help seniors, but needs the funds to do it. When a letter she wrote to enter a contest goes viral, Oliver knows she was talking about him. Since he needed to look more responsible for a client, they both agreed to help each other by having a fake relationship. The problem is, they have both had more than friendly feelings for each other, but were afraid to lose the best part of their life if they didn't work as a couple. But when you click so perfectly and your chemistry is that electric, how can they not ignite when they have to be more physical in public? Oliver is a sexy British lawyer who is funny, and sweet, and Summer is quirky, kind and giving. They make such a perfect pair as they explore the best dating spots in New York, having fun, awkward mishaps, and lots of sizzling passion! This is such a wonderfully romantic and swoony story. I loved the dates they went on, their fun banter and their fiery chemistry was so palpable it took my breath away. We also got to know Summer's twin brother Logan, and their friend Fitz, and I can't wait for both those stories next. There is so much to love about this fun, witty, and sexy romance and I absolutely loved every moment of it!

The thrill of a Lauren Blakely novel is that there's always a surprise waiting beyond the cover. From flirty to sexy, unpredictable to obvious her hero and heroines know how to get a reaction. Dear Sexy Ex-Boyfriend is no exception. Summer and Oliver are one heartbreak short of a losing battle. Friendship and yearning blur the lines between heartache and romance. At their best they are magic. At their worst, clueless. Through the ups and downs of love Blakely never loses her sense of humor and that what appealed to my heart.
