I LOVED Vicious and the sequel was good but a still a little disappointing. However, I still think these two books are extremely well-crafted, and the author definitely knows what she's doing. But since I already knew the world and everything, this book didn't have me in awe as much as the first one did.

I was still very invested in Victor and his weird family, and I still liked Eli more than I probably should have, but I guess I was a little disappointed at how Victor and Eli's ennemy thing wasn't the focus anymore? Not really. I'm also really, really not sure how I feel about the ending of this book.

I'm just. Not entirely sure how I felt about Vengeful. It was good but I also was less emotionally invested in this one than the first one. Still enjoyed reading and I would read more about Victor Vale, Syd, Dol and Mitch and whatever weird impossible things might happen to them.

it's so weird that i found this book bland and boring but i still managed to read this without stopping ... ve schwab really has a knack for writing.

here in vengeful we got to see what happened long after vicious, and we also went back and forth between the past and the present. each character, especially the ones who didn't get to share their past in vicious, is discussed deeper in this book, although dully. what made me think like this is that it seemed like the story was getting nowhere notable? the main character's goal was just the same as the one in vicious and the only addition here is some new characters that weren't developed properly and in the end they proved to be quite unnecessary. i'm not even going to be surprised if in victorious later the main character's purpose will be as same as in the previous books because honestly it is getting more and more predictable. vicious was clearly a pleasant experience for me while vengeful is nowhere near that feeling, i don't know whether to be excited for the third book but maybe i'll give it a chance later when it comes out.

A sequel that gives the first one a run for its money. I loved seeing more POVs and more EOs, but I especially loved how the original characters were developed even more than before. And though I preferred her Darker Shades series for the world building and magic, I really loved how this one built itself around our reality so effortlessly. It’s done so well it’s believable.

**I’m interested to see what shes going to do with this series in the future. New characters? Or will we get our OGs back?

The story kept me engaged and I enjoyed it, but it didn't quite capture the magic of the first book. Several things were never explained in a satisfying manner, either.
