I devoured this. I absolutely loved this book, though I can recognize it won’t be for everyone. Those who get it, get it. And those who don’t, honestly, you’re lucky. If you have panic attacks, obsess over death, have depression or suicidal ideations, religious trauma, struggle with addiction, or feel things deeply, this may or may not be for you. I can see how it might be difficult to read, but it also might make you feel seen

As an atheist lesbian who has non-debilitating anxiety, this book brought up some stuff for me. I have already been thinking so much about death due to the ongoing genocide of Palestinians, but this book made me more anxious. But it’s also hopeful and the ending scene is perfect and the whole book reminds us that life, though fleeting, is precious

Probably one of the most relatable books I've read
(maybe don't read it if you're feeling particularly anxious or depressed)

Oh my god I just wish you were smiling.

Now, do you ever think about how people might wish that for you?

Beautiful stream of conscious novel. You have to be in the right mindset to read this. It’s dark and funny and a little heartbreaking all at once. The ending feels a little abrupt, but it’s still a joy to read.

I really enjoyed this book and flew through it. I felt like the portrayal of anxiety/depression was very well written and relatable. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

I'm giving this half a star and that is literally so generous. That half-star only comes from the fact that there are some quotes in this book that I like. Other than that, this book was a nightmare to read. The main character is extremely mentally ill and it follows an almost Dear Evan Hansen-like plot where she gets a job and starts impersonating a dead woman because she doesn't want that dead woman's friend to feel sad. I literally don't have anything else to say other than I only read this book because my best friend was like "Please, read this, I hated it," and I have to finish books out of spite. One of the only positives is that this book is short. But there are no consequences for any of the main characters actions and nothing is resolved at the end.
I am glad that the cat didn't die though.
