This book follows the same beats as the story scene for scene and honesty reading a book like this after such a long, hard hitting and emotional book is very relaxing and calms your mind. 
The story of Billy is one I always hold near to my heart knowing a boy myself who loved dancing but was horribly bullied for it, so seeing Billy in this book so supported by others further into it made me love it even more. 
I had a lot of my close relatives grow up in the miners strike and I hear stories about it all the time so seeing it presented in a real way and reading about it and the struggles was quite emotional. 

My only complaint I wish it was longer

I love the movie with all my heart but since this book is inspired by the movie i found it kinda childish and not that well written

Ich war im Musical Billy Elliot auf Englisch nach diesem Buch und es war besser und schöner als alles davor. Ich hab geweint und gelacht und geliebt. Dieses Buch erinnert mich daran und das macht es für mich wertvoll und umso besser.
