It was really interesting, like watching a slow motion car crash. So cringy, but also so compelling and you couldn't look away. The protagonist really was kind of a monster, and I think for a while they thought they were trying to make her sympathetic, but they mostly failed. She really did seem kind of racist, and her whole whiny vibe of how hard it is to be white was obviously impossible to root for. It seems like it might have two authors? Towards the end, is diving into more interesting ideas about what truth is, who owns the narrative, what people want to root for versus what they truly might care about. When I was reading it, I didn't feel happy when June was exposed. But looking back on it now she's so clearly a villain, I now feel like I want her to fail and be exposed for the racist thief that she is. Is that what the authors are trying to do?

Als Hörbuch gehört und ich fand’s sehr gut!! Ich glaube genau so wird Rassismus von vielen weißen Menschen leider auch in der Realität gerechtfertigt und konstruktive Kritik von “den woken” dämonisiert.

Not sure this book was for me really. It’s supposed to be satire but I didn’t really find it funny. Interesting and entertaining at some points but the characters were so unlikable and sooo whiney…

I read this in one sitting. As someone interested in the publishing industry, this was such an interesting way to peel back the curtains and take a peek inside.
