The Inheritance of Orquidea Divina is a multi-generational story of a family's secrets, filled with magical realism and trauma.

What can I say besides this: you have to read this. It was a beautiful story about how the secrets of our family can infiltrate every part of our life. The story switches from Orquidea's past to the present, told mostly through the perspective of her grand children Marimar and Rey.

I don't want to say more, so as not to ruin it. But I absolutely loved this novel, and can't recommend it enough.

A beautifully tragic story of the life of Orquidea Divina. The story begins when Orquidea calls on all of her descendants to come back to their family home in Four Rivers to receive their inheritance. Seven years after her passing/ transformation, three of the grandchildren decided to uncover her secret past to help figure out who is responsible for the tragedies that has befallen the family.

This one was a win, I don't know if the plot was that excellent or the writing style, but I really enjoyed this one.

This was a difficult read for me. There were so many characters and descriptions of sexual acts which is a no for me personally. Plus there was quite a bit of violence and trauma that made it an event harder read for me personally. I won’t be rereading but at glad I got out of my comfort zone with this book
