Definitely slower than her other books. An interesting story, but not as edge-of-your-seat as some of her others.

I hate how somewhere in the middle this book stopped being about a man on trial for killing his wife and became about another asshole cheating on his devoted wife.

I started this audio book once before and I didn't get too far and it wasn't keeping my interesting. Started it again when I knew I was going to have plenty of time to listen at one time.

This was the first Jodi Picoult book that I've read. The book did keep me interested enough to finish th book, but I found it a bit depressing. The key elements of the book are a man who kills his sick wife and a guy who has an affair.

Another odd thing (at least when listening to the book) is that at the beginning of different chapters (or sections) there was a paragraph seperate from the chapter/section... and not until the very end did I figure out who's perspective those paragraphs had been written from.

My least favorite Jodi book.
There was no hook, no twist.

One of my friends picked this for book club and I really wasn't sure what to expect. I'd heard of Jodi Picoult before, but this was the first book I've read by her.

While the book does go into the story of a court case based on an assisted suicide, this book is really about an unhappy couple. These two characters are on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to their marriage. Cameron seems apathetic to his marriage with Allie. While he cares about her, it never feels like he has romantic feelings for her. Meanwhile, Allie is bordering on obsession with her husband at times. This may be due to the underlying knowledge that Cameron does not return the level of emotion she feels for him.

Overall, not my usual read. I thought the author did a decent job of developing the characters and remaining neutral while writing the affair from Cameron's perspective. None of the characters were super likable, but that made them more real.

I loved the Scottish cast, but I’m.not a huge fan of books that center around adultery and make it seem okay. This book seemed more about that than the euthanasia. Not my favorite Jodi Picoulr book.

Read a couple of her books- I wasn't to thrilled with this book! Drags, boring, no suspense, ending was dull :( defiantly disappointed.
