This kind of reminded me of the pact, in that a guy is asked to kill the woman he loves. but it really focuses more on the chief/leader of the town, and he's definitely not someone i liked at all. the whole time i wanted to read more, while really not liking one of the main characters. i was glad to see allie grow as a person but the ending was very bad and disappointing. also, this book reminded me of the outlander series with all of its scotish stuff.

My god this is a good book. It took me a while to get really into it, I tend to not binge read e-books on my phone, but once I did… it’s a beautiful love story, heartbreaking and incredible. I cried, I cringed, I giggled, and I thought long and hard about what it means to love someone. Truly love them. Wow. This book will stay with me for a long time.

Ugh, this book. Ugh. I knew from the moment I picked it up I knew I was going to regret reading it. [a:Jodi Picoult|7128|Jodi Picoult|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1305417712p2/7128.jpg] has great ideas, but her execution always leaves me wanting. She also never seems to know how to end her stories. It's like she gets bored with writing and just wants to finish the novel.

The characters droves me nuts. Cam is a jerk, Mia is a jerk and Allie needs to grow a backbone. The only character I liked at all was Ellen, and she didn't have nearly enough to do in the novel. I liked Angus, too, but I have no idea what he was meant to be doing or representing in the book.

The book moves very slowly, and honestly, the blurb says nothing about what the book is really about. I wanted to read more about the court case, about Maggie's battle with cancer and her decision to end her life via Jamie. But instead we had to deal with freaking Cam and Mia's apparent beautiful (gag!) relationship.

This book is just terrible. Picoult is an okay writer- her prose is fine, at least. And she starts with great ideas. But her characters are unbelievable and her endings fall flat.

A Picoult that I had read before, and forgotten about until now. It’s not my favorite, as I miss her first person from each character style that I have come to love from her, but still a compelling read, especially in the love triangle of Cam, Allie, and Mia.

There were 2 storylines happening in this book. The main one with regards to a husband murdering his terminally ill wife seemed to drag whilst I was more interested in the subplot! I don't know if I was expecting more of a Picoult book but it felt very weak.

Another book that's good enough to pick up and read, but not good enough to get more than a "meh" from me. At least she is consistent which is why I will read more of her in the right setting.

After reading "My Sister's Keeper" and "The Pact", this book was a disappointment. Boo.
