This book is totally crazy. Is all I can say. Made me crazy and go paranoid. But I love it. It's so interesting and I can't wait to find out what's going on. And I can't write a review cos honestly? I don't know what's going on.

I got this series a year ago as a gift from my mom and I didn’t know what it was about. I started reading the first book without knowing I was starting one of my favorite series of all time and that I was going to finish reading all three of them in less than a week.
In this series we follow Mara Dyer as she wakes up in the hospital with no memory of how she got there only knowing that her friends are dead and she was the sole survivor.
When I started reading I did not expected it to have some strong paranormal creepiness. I definitely couldn’t read this book at night. The plot was extremely interesting and had me hook since page 1. The characters are very well written and I love the way the author writes that allows you to be immersed in the story.
I really wasn’t expecting to like this that much specially since I am so late to the party and this book was popular almost 9 years ago. So the fact that I liked it so much is proof that these books stand the test of time.
I agree that it was a little bit of insta-love, however that fact that we got a scientifical explanation later on has to why they fell in love so quickly was enough for me to be onboard with.
Overall, this book was the great start to a series, it messed me up and left me at 3 in the morning just contemplating the abysm reaching for the second book ASAP.
p.s: Noah is my new character crush of the year, I was swooning over him.

Flew through it again, and definitely going to be one of my favourite series. I think I picked up on some different things because I've read the second novel, and things just connect. It seems like I have been waiting forever to read this novel...it was definitely worth the wait! When 16-year old Mara Dyer wakes up in the hospital, she is unable to remember the series of events that landed her there. All she knows is that her best friend is dead and she is alive after a terrible accident occurs. Faced with PSTD, her family decides to move from Rhode Island to Florida, hoping that a fresh start will do everyone good. As the new girl in a wealthy private school, the first person she meets will change her life forever. Noah Shaw, a gorgeous and brilliant boy, seems to be everywhere, and Mara cannot help, but be attracted to him. However, first she must deal with her hallucinations; she sees her dead friends everywhere, and she is terrified. This book was excellent--my rating should be 4.5 stars!

This book sucked me in at the very beginning, and held me until about the halfway point. That’s where it went from being fairly realistic, with elements of a psychological thriller, to being a paranormal romance that was barely hanging together. I haven’t read Twilight or Fifty Shades of Gray, but Noah’s control over Mara made me think that’s what those books were like. It didn’t seem very original, at least, and probably not the best thing for impressionable teenagers to read. I was disappointed at how everything seemed to fall apart at the end, like the author wanted all these various elements in the book, but couldn’t think of how it would work and just threw them all in. The story could have worked as a psychological thriller, and I really wish it had stayed that way; instead it seemed like it became a paranormal romance because that’s what’s popular these days.
