I really do identify with Agnes Nitt in this retelling of Phantom of the Opera. It's a wonder that she only has the one alter ego, really.

Christine makes me want to slap her once a chapter, if only to shut her off. She's a bubble-headed blonde whose greatest achievement will be to live long enough to make sure her daughter turns out just like her.

I love the witches, with Granny Weatherwax being my favorite of the series. Good satirical look at musical theatre and performance, interesting mystery to solve alongside the characters, and (although I didn't feel a rush or compulsion to finish this one quickly) I enjoyed myself immensely.

Hilarious send-up of opera, The Phantom of the Opera, and musical theater.

i maintain not all Terry Pratchett novels are superb, but The Witches novels seem to be for my tastes, and this one was no exception. Even anticipating how some of the major plot points would likely turn out by page 10, this one was a fun ride.

The witches never fail to have me laughing out loud, and this is one of my faves. So many wonderful puns you have to sometimes read a paragraph twic because you were laughing too much.

Sans surprise, une merveille d’intelligence et d’humour, les sorcières de Pratchett sont des trésors et devraient être inscrites au patrimoine de l’UNESCO en tant que meilleurs personnages de fiction

This is the first Witches novel of Pratchett's I've read (and evidently the 5th in the Witches series). I'll definitely need to go back and start the series. Nanny Ogg and Granny Weatherwax are cagey and wonderful, thoughtful and compassionate. I love them. Like I've said, reading a Discworld book for me is like coming home.

Ah! The Opera!! Another hilarious installment. Up until the crescendo, i was going to say that this was not my favorite of the series, despite the fact that Phantom Of The Opera is my favorite.
Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg are delightful and hilarious, as always. i always enjoy Death, and Greebo-well, i still haven’t decided about him.
The content is a little dated and a smidge offensive, lol, though i don’t fault it for that, it’s a product of the times, and frankly this generation are a bit whiny!
I do wish Agnet had a bit more to do with the plot.
But the ending really turned the whole story around for me, and i was, as per usual, laughing out loud at times. That death scene was EPIC! The translation of the song! I died!

DID NOT FINISH: 78%

I really disliked the fatphobia and ableism against Agnes, Henry, and Walter. And then I hit the end of the time from the library, so I returned it and read the synopsis.
