Not quite a 4-star. A quick beach read or weekend book.
A decent beach read. The last 1/4 of the book was a miss for me. It seemed like the author was trying to write suspense/mystery but never got there.

It wasn't perfect, but I quite enjoyed this novel. The characters were pretty realistic, human, and deep. I didn't want the book to end, which is probably my biggest compliment. The author is one of my favorites -- while I'm not the target demographic, nonetheless she speaks to me.
Not a bad read - kind of fun. Writing style is a bit repetitive, but it suits the characters. Beach read ;-)
I was hesitant to read this book because I don't have patience for lying right now. I thought it would be a ton of lying and miscommunications but it was. It was actually an enjoyable summer read.
But I did not finish. And I deducted a star.
I stop just shy of the end. I was very aggrevated and disheartened by what happens to one of the minor characters and how it would presumably pile on to a character who already suffered enough loss. Life's not fair, I know but my darkened little heart was hoping for something better, something more stable.
