“Magic and ale? Now that sounds like my kind of performance.
Synopsis:
I’ve poured my heart and soul into reviving my aunt’s inn after her passing, but a pixie dust mite infestation threatens to destroy everything. Their glittery trails of destruction have infiltrated the guest rooms, and the cost to eradicate them will leave me penniless. I’m desperate for a solution.
Enter Thorak Ironfist, the orc who once tormented me in high school. Now a wealthy brewmaster, he’s determined to expand his ale empire into the human realm. But prejudice stands in his way. When a potential investor mistakes him for the muscle instead of the brains, Thorak blurts out that his human “fiancée” handles the business side of things. Fate intervenes when I overhear his fib.
I seize the opportunity and strike a deal: I’ll play the part of his devoted human partner if he financially aids me in banishing the pests. What could possibly go wrong?
Review:
What an adorable, cozy read. I had seen this book advertised few times in my feed and had been sold from the start.
The world/character building was well done and it felt like a classic hallmark movie but with magic. I really loved the constant history recaps on how Mariah saw things vs how Thorak saw things. Definitely looking forward to more books in this series!

This was an adorable book. I loved how light hearted it was and it was a nice break from all the dark romance. The spice was good but also mild which was also nice.

This was my first spicy monster romance and it was “chef’s kiss”. I really loved Mariah and Thorak and Elderberry Falls! It was so well explained I could imagine vacationing there!!!! The characters were all so well interweaved that I am looking forward to reading their stories also along with following up on Mariah and Thorak and their life together!!!!! This is a highly recommended book and a must read!!!! You won’t be disappointed
