I'm unhappy about this.
The fantasy was extremely superficial this could have been any small town romance there was basically no distinction between that and this universe. Oh monsters exist but they're basically human, just green i suppose. And some of them are vaguely magicy. I just think if you're gonna write a monster romance you gotta commit to the bit :/
This orc who suffers from his "desires as a man" is indeed very orcish. Nevermind the weird persecution complex against humans and then making a point to talk about how is monsters who have been oppressed and treated violently but ??? I'm deeping it i know but this is thoughtless 😭
The romance is unearned. She goes from hating this guy for being her childhood bully to getting over it damn fast bc he's too hot. More minus points for the bullshit third act miscommunication fuelled breakup 😟
I'm most offended by the superficial setting. The fantasy d&d-esque town with tinder and the mmc owns a CRAFT BREWERY. AND DRINKS IPAS. I cannot.

Don't let my rating keep you from this book- it's not poorly written. If this is your genre, you'll probably enjoy it quite a bit. As it is, I was expecting Travis Baldree and I got Katee Robert. Both good authors to be compared to, just not ones you'd want to confuse each other for.
