The Orc and the Innkeeper is a book that knows what it is. There aren't any particularly life-changing stakes; it's light and fluffy in the best ways possible. Thorak is maybe a little more one-note than I'd like him to be, I think that some more Orcish/"Monster" culture discussion would have been fascinating to see.

Where has this been all my life?!

The spice was just right! not too much and didn’t take up the majority of the story.

Plot was so freaking good adorable I could. not. put. it. down.

Did I tear up on public transit bc I live in a city? Yes
Will I be rereading this again when I need a pickmeup? Also yes.

Cute monster romance about forgiveness and trying to convince your family to overcome their prejudices! I'm not the biggest fan of oh he bullied you because he liked you buuuuuuuuut I don't think this author tried to excuse this guy and I think we all deserve some happy endings. I'm also all for how this guy rebuilt her necklace, AUGH. Competency.

a little too fast paced for my liking. the relationship and issues just seemed to pass by. considering only 214 pages it makes sense. it is cozy but spicy. the “chemistry” wasnt very believable either due to the pacing. very mediocre. Thorak just made me think of smart hulk
