This series is so good when you want something entertaining and fast to read! A little bit spicy with a good plot, what more could you ask for?

Not bad at all. I have never read a Laura Griffin book, and I worried it might be hard to start with Book 8 in a series and not be completely lost. However, that wasn't the case. There were a few times where I wished I'd read an earlier book so I'd have more backstory, but overall it was easy to follow and a relatively quick read.

The plot dragged a bit, and the characters were pretty standard, but I think it had a enough going for it to still be enjoyable. It reminded me a bit of Suzanne Brockman, which can only be a good thing.

I'd consider giving the earlier books a shot, and I have to admit, I'm very interested in what happens with Hailey and Luke - so if a book on them ever comes out, I'd definitely pick that up!

It has been quite some time since I have read a book in this series. Yet, each book can be read as a stand alone novel. So just like me, you can jump right back into this series with ease. Even with not being familiar with the events from the prior book or Elizabeth and Derek's history, I still felt the connect they shared with each other. Which I liked that the author did not allow them to get closer to each other until about midway through the story. As much as I like romance between two characters, it can be distracting at times if not done right from the main story.

Although, I expected Elizabeth to be stronger than she was. Which she may be in prior novels but she seemed to let Derek call the shots in this book. Yet, I still enjoyed the book and was into the story. Very believable. A quick read.

New to me author Laura Griffin and even though I hadn't read anything earlier in the Tracers series I had no problems jumping right in with book #8. When FBI agent Elizabeth runs in to the one man she wouldn't mind continuing to avoid, Navy SEAL Derek, she knows that he's trying to get information from her. She may be tempted but she'd rather solve the case. As the work together to unravel a terror plot on US soil they can't avoid their attraction but will it become too much of a distraction? Great read, some small confusion with some reoccurring secondary characters from earlier books but otherwise a fun, exciting read. Can't wait to try more from Ms. Griffin!

Ahhhh another great book !!
I loved seeing the characters from the previous books and especially finally having the story of Elizabeth and Derek =D
I loved their first encounter, the very playful side of Derek and the very serious one of Elizabeth in contrast x) I love seeing Derek drive her nuts and add to that a plot with terrorists and everything ... I SO loved it ><

This is an action packed story filled with suspense, drama and romance. Lieutenant Derek Vaughn is a dedicated Navy Seal and when he and his team are on a mission they discover information that leads them to believe there is going to be a terrorist attack in the United States. Derek is on leave now and wants to help uncover the plot, but his hands are tied because this isn’t his jurisdiction.

Elizabeth LaBlanc is a hard working FBI agent. She is trying to prove a woman can be just as successful as a man in this male dominated field. Her job is her sole focus and she doesn’t have time for any distractions in her life. When it’s discovered that terrorists are plotting something in the United States, she is assigned to a special task force to investigate the plot.

Derek and Elizabeth met each other a year ago when she was working on a case. Derek surprises Elizabeth when he shows up and wants to help find the terrorists. Elizabeth isn’t sure what to do. She knows she will get into trouble if she gives Derek any information, but they can use all the help they can get on this case. Derek is continually showing up and asking questions and he is distracting Elizabeth. She is attracted to Derek and his sexy Texas drawl, even though she doesn’t want to be. Derek wants to explore the irresistible chemistry between them but Elizabeth keeps pulling back. She doesn’t trust him and is afraid to let guard down.

I love and devour everything Laura Griffin writes. Her stories are always filled with intrigue, suspense and romance, my favorite combination. In this story only bits and pieces of information are given out, so the reader slowly puts it all together. The only downside to this story for me was it contains more action than romance. Derek and Elizabeth have a sizzling chemistry when they are together and I would have enjoyed a little more romance. I admire Derek and Elizabeth they are both goal driven and constantly striving for excellence in everything they pursue. Derek’s a nice guy. He really likes Elizabeth and hasn’t been able to forget her since they met a year ago, but he loves being a Navy and he’s gone a lot. This is an action packed story as they race against time trying to chase down clues to stop the terrorists.

FBI Agent Elizabeth LeBlanc is racing against time to stop a terrorist attack on US soil. It becomes abundantly clear that the only person who may be able to help her stop the attack is the same US Navy Seal who distracts her more than anyone she has ever met. She's not interested in being his booty call whenever he's on leave, but she can't ignore the way she feels when she is around him either.

As the two race to catch the terrorists, Derek Vaugh is also racing to prove to Elizabeth that there could be more between them than just a mutual call to serve their country. He doesn't know what the future holds for him--most of the time he doesn't know what tomorrow holds for him--but he knows he's not ready to walk away from Elizabeth.

Things get messy with the case when they discover that the former President is the intended target at the All-Star game for Major League Baseball. When the dust settles, Derek is in police custody, Elizabeth is the hero of the moment, and once again faced with the potential of having Derek break her heart...again.

Laura Griffin is a master of amazingly well-written romantic suspense featuring strong, intelligent, capable characters in both the male and female roll. You definitely won't find any girls with twisted ankles running from the bad guy in her books, which is what puts her front-and-center on my auto-buy list every time.

This was a great book! I couldn't stop myself from starting it while I was at work yesterday, and I've barely put it down since! I definitely need to read more books by this author!

Got an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
Really liked this novel and it worked well as a standalone. The plot was full of action and had great pacing. The romance was definitely there, but didn't drag on or feel fake.
Will definitely be checking out her backlog!
