I got bored half way though and had to comeback to it. Just wasn’t for me I guess.
I can’t express how disappointing this read was… to start, I refuse to put a book down until it isn’t fun for me to read. With this, I needed to skip over 100 pages in order to remotely enjoy it only to figure out how it ends — and even that was disappointing. The amount of typos in this book far exceeded the positive elements of it; multiple characters’ names being misspelled is just unacceptable in my eyes. I tried to have hope that the writing would get better and the plot would progress, but this was a poorly written soap opera of a novel that had a really promising summary and nothing else. Perhaps due to the fact that this was an advanced reader’s copy, it hasn’t been proofread, and if that’s the case, then maybe this is a little harsh. But in my eyes, there’s a lot of work to be done before this gets officially published.

I wanted to like this but I struggled a little. Parts of it felt like the author just kept repeating and emphasizing something to make it seem more serious, to make sure I got it, just repeating and drilling it in my head. After awhile it felt like it was just filler taking up pages. And the ending, for all the buildup, was a little anticlimactic.

I finished reading because I wanted to know what happened, but I did not enjoy it as much as I hoped I would. The characters were all over the place and unrealistic with their emotions. I rolled my eyes several times.

Great character development had me hooked right from the beginning. Great read and highly recommended.
* I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book from NetGalley and Kensington Books in exchange for my honest review

hated so much..... worst book i think i've ever read. so many of the same sentences were repeated over and over again in a span of three pages, too many different perspectives, and it felt like there really was no story to read. it was all just told. there was no chance for me to think, no build up of suspense. it was all just thrown out on the page.
