THIS IS AN OPINION
But. I feel a valid one, okay. First off… as someone who strives to take care of my mental health and struggle with mental illness I’d make sure everyone I know does not read this.
To summarize, there is a lot of toxic positivity and in order to survive life and reach enlightenment you must ignore your thoughts an feelings… I don’t think so. This is one of the teachings that lead me down the road to severe depression a few years ago. Don’t agree? Just read this article. I’m not saying it doesn’t work for some, just most definitely not for all: https://lidiazuin.medium.com/researchers-discuss-the-risk-of-psychotic-outbreaks-in-meditation-ff999334c460
“What the studies mentioned in the articles published at Harper’s and BBC indicate is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. In fact, it is this universalization that can be very dangerous to the point of potentially becoming a trigger even for people who have no history of mental illness.” -Researchers discuss the risk of psychotic outbursts in meditation
Also I feel like a lot of the chapters are severely contradictory. Hey take moments to yourself and enjoy time, just kidding you stopped working for three whole seconds?? What’s wrong with you! You’re wasting your life! No wait you need to spend every moment alone in a garden taking to plants, haha sike your work is your life that’s all you need.
