100 practical steps to live better and more simply, as inspired by Zen Buddhism.

A beautiful and simple book about simple living. Though many of its teachings seem simple and something that one may have read somewhere, yet it takes a fresh mind to savour each of them again. This isn’t a book just for beginners, because there are never any beginners on this path.

I loved reading this book, the drawings and the simplicity of it all. I took notes in my notebook (with a pen, not on the phone!) and each word i wrote was with same awareness as the author spoke, like the zen paintings.

It’s beautiful...to just slow down and observe the simplicity around us and in the books, in the words.

A beautiful book with some great lessons shared within its pages
informative lighthearted fast-paced

Very short but shallow read, this book gathers 100 life pro tips, none of them are developed in a comprehensive narrative, instead the author just persuades the reader through a few paragraphs for each one of these 100 tips to trust him completely because Zen Buddhists are very wise and you should act accordingly.

There are indeed a couple of chapters with good advice, don’t get me wrong, but the lecture is not deep enough for the reader to actually grasp these concepts in a theoretical nor practical way. Think of it as a book with high spirited quotes

easy to read and informative, more like something to pick up and read shortly when you are anxious or overwhelmed. it is full of metaphors to help you better understand the meaning behind each statement. this book is useful, but did not come at the right point in my life which reduces its impact on me. i will refer to it again at some point in the future, but for now, i'll give it a 3/5 stars because it was repetitive at parts, especially with the repeated mentionings of the different zazens (over half a dozen times).
