I’d been thirsty for this book without knowing it existed. When I found it I knew she was the one. As I read her throughout, I felt pure bliss for I was rich. Once I finished her, I had held her (still talking about the book) with such relief and filled to the brim in satisfaction, for I knew that my being had finally expanded in hectares with fields of beautiful flowers to harvest; not only in that moment, but to harvest for the rest of my life.
I’m such a young silly girl with so much to explore, and I lack the big pile of books in the data of my brain that most of the good reads people are walking around with in the contrary. Oh I am in first-love-awe with the Greek mythology, witchcraft, and the poetic genius of a female author here, it is vivid. And I’m aware you can find these characteristics in many other corners of the world, also in the world of literature, so that’s a bit why I say “first-love-awe”, perhaps if I’d known more about Greek mythology etc. and read more books, I’d have been a bit more numb to it, been more critical, compared and learnt less. But I didn’t, so, I’m on fire!
Not having been able to read absolute shelves and shelves of books with my not being used to reading as much, I’ve also always made sure that if I read a book it was just what I am looking for. And Circe sat at the throne as my absolute match. It’s just completely clicked into the puzzle pieces of my tickles.
Plus, all those topics just came together beautifully, and this is just a good fucking book so shut up. No I did not know it was TikTok famous, I knew nothing of this book before I found it in the bookstore and purchased it.
